wow that is very convincing, but these ten reasons might be a better explanation of why it's wrong:
The Top Ten Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong
1. Homosexuality is not natural. Real people always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all; women are still property, blacks still aren’t supposed to marry whites.
5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if homosexual marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Homosexual couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren’t full yet, and the world needs more children.
7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in North America.
9. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

So how dos this fit in to the beliefs of the Christan's known as Later Day Saints.(Mormons) In a Temple marriage they are sailed to each other for eternity. You may get a divorce but the two souls are still sailed to each other.A Temple unsealing is possible, If the Elders say it is determined by God.When a scientist like Steven Hawking comes up with a theory,he proves or disproves it with mathematical equations. Not by saying science seas it is so!

Wow. Seriously, you believe that? That's one of the worst explinations ever.
The fact is that the only reason that these people claim gay marriage is a threat is because they themselves are afraid of it. Gay parents are better parents, and with the worlds overpopulation problem, the adoption process is perfect for a gay couple.
Okay, and if you seriously believe that it's impossible to procreate outside of wedlock, you need HELP. Of course you can procreate outside of marriage - if you couldn't, I wouldn't be here, along with nearly half of all American children!
That's not a scientific law. That's a lame excuse to push fear onto the rest of us.

THANK YOU for providing us all with this further evidence of the degree to which bigots will leap in order to whine about the impending day when all gays will share EQUAL rights with straights.
This is the biggest crock of crappola I've seen yet on this topic! You should write science-fiction.
There is absolutely NO good reason to oppose same-sex marriage (SSM), and it would be hard to imagine how anything could possibly be more HARMLESS than SSM.
The very **naming** of those so-called "defense of marriage" laws shows just how DISHONEST and desperate the loons of the RRR Cult ("Religious" Radical Right) truly are!
JUST as the equally-mindless segregationists were, 50 years ago.
To "Esther" -- That overwhelming ratio of thumb's-downs your answer has elicited should really TELL you something. You clearly have a LOT to learn!

Wow, so GOD is responsible for all these heterosexual divorces!!! Oh well, that's alright then ...
Although ... why didn't god just make it so there are fewer people?
Or change the law of marriage conservation to free up numbers?
I mean god could DO that, right?
Maybe god doesn't WANT to do it? Maybe god wants there to be fewer marriages?
Well gee, maybe god is fixing it so all these heterosexual people get divorced so there will be enough room according to the Law of Marriage Conservation so that HOMOsexual marriage can become a reality!
Wow, praise the lord and pass the bonboniere!
Thanks scientist Em, you have made it all so much clearer for my understanding. You creationist science guys really know your stuff, don't you. After giving this some thought, it's hard to understand the scoffers.
Cheers :-)

So?
All this person is saying is that if "GAY" couples marriage is legitimized, things will get a lot worse than they are now. Frankly my dears, he has a problem.
His "theory" could be the equivalent of why days get longer in summer. The sun crosses the equator and warms the available daylight thus causing the light to expand, Hence more daylight.
Or do I have a problem ?

If God has made divorce so prevalent, that suggests he controls everything and therefore hasn't he also made the seemingly growing population of homosexuals so prevalent too? And every other thing you may or may not agree with - hasn't he made IT that way too?
If God has such fantastic control over us that he can make us divorce, be gay, or be anything else you seem to think is out of our own hands, maybe you should just sit tight, button your lips and enjoy the ride.

I think it's just a technicality in terminology. Technically marriage is a religious institution, people should be allowed to get civil unions with exactly the same legal principles and call it gay marriage if they want. I do think Christians have the position not to perform a religious ceremony and choose on an individual basis wether it will take place in their Church.

Just an Example:
I don't think women that are married and have a boy they would not be able to teach a boy Manly things, it begins with toddler stage. I have two little boys and they look up to thier Father and He defines what a man is to them.I could never take That place. Then I have a Little Girl if I wasn't around it would be hard for her to immulate what her dad does and grow into a Woman.
But No that Explanation of the Scientists is terrible. Its a lie to get people to accept it. God Loves Gays but Despises the Sin of It.

LOL. Thats cute. But no, the reason Gay Marriage is viewed as a threat is because of closed minded people that think that being "Gay" is a choice and that it would reflect badly on the next generation of children and that being "Gay" would become an epidemic.
