The primary treatment for this condition is physio therapy
Steroid injections may help, but often fail and also frequently only provide short term relief.
If orthotics have been used without benefit, I would recommend you see your provider to have the foot rested after steroid injection in a 90 degree splint and place on an anti-inflammatory medication.
On occasion I have taped the arch to stretch the plantar fascia.
But the best bet is physio therapy, if you have not been referred, and just given pain meds, then talk to your GP for a referral.

I have had this complaint for a year now and have been supplied with Ortho insoles made to measure and an injection in my heel which has improved it but they say it will happen again, I lost my job because of it, and now they have pensioned me off, but because I have paid into a private pension scheme and receive about £40 pw they deduct that amount out of my pension credit so I am no better off if I had not save for the past 30 years, oh well that's life.
But you have the right to be referred to the hospital change your doctor if this helps he cannot Deny you.

The 2 most useful managements for this condition are physiotherapy and local steroid injection.
Physio is slow but sure, local injection can sometimes solve the problem in 7 days, but has a 30% fail rate.

force for a second opinion or referal to a specialist, even if you have to get in touch with your local hospital and tell them that you need help, your GP should deem your health as paramount, if he doesn`t then you have the right to ask for a second opinion, best wishes and good luck...
