Tim and Joe are bungee jumping one day.
Tim says to Joe, "You know, we could make a lot of money running our own bungee jumping business in Mexico."
Joe thinks this is a great idea, so they pool all their money and buy everything they'll need: - a tower, an elastic cord, insurance, etc.
They travel to Mexico and begin to set up on the square.
As they are constructing the tower, a crowd begins to assemble around them. ....Slowly, more and more people gather to watch them at work.

When they finish, there's such a crowd they decide it would be a good idea to give a demonstration, so Tim jumps.......

He bounces at the end of the cord, but when he comes back up, Joe notices he has a few cuts and scratches. Unfortunately, Joe isn't able to catch him and he falls again, bounces, and comes back up again. This time, he is bruised and bleeding. Again Joe misses him.
Tim falls again and bounces back up. This time he comes back pretty messed up--he's got a couple of broken bones, 2 teeth missing and is almost unconscious.
Thankfully, Joe catches him this time and says, "What happened? Was the cord too long?"
Barely able to speak, Tim gasps,
"No, the bungee cord was fine....it was the crowd.
- What on earth is a piñata?"

"what on earth is a pinata?"

edit: Ok, Ask-Elvis, that was indeed a good one (after I had to look in Wikipedia!!!). It really is funny. Thanks.

Quote:

"The piñata is a brightly-coloured paper container filled with sweets and/or toys. It is generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling and is used during celebrations. A succession of blindfolded, stick-wielding children try to break the piñata in order to collect the sweets (traditionally fruit, such as sugarcane) and/or toys inside of it. It has been used for hundreds of years to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas."
