If so, shouldn't the Christians be more concerned with banning divorce rather than banning gay marriage?

Isnt marriage NOT sacred, if it so easily ends in divorce?

I agree - clean your own house before pointing at others.

I don't think believers are overly concerned with divorce, since the divorce rate amongst evangelical people is much higher than average. Here is a Baptist article that supports this.

Also attached is an article about how the rate of same-sex marriage in Canada is five times the rate of opposite-sex marriage. So far, the sanctity of marriage amongst gays has not caused any problems; although, the Baptist article suggests otherwise within their circles.

I took assorted psychology courses and in no way heard of this. those that have extensive divorce expenditures are those interior the age communities 17-25 years of age( i think of it grow to be like 80% divorce cost in the 5 year mark), people who've been divorced greater desirable than two times and people who father and mom divorced (no longer that plenty greater than something of the inhabitants nonetheless- in simple terms greater possibility) and finally people who've lived jointly formerly marriage (back possibility- they could have diverse expectancies from marriage, that express components will interior the courting gets greater powerful) If the divorce are indeeds greater interior the "Bible belt" , perhaps because of the fact the inhabitants gets married greater desirable than something and the reality that they get married youthful. And that must be mentioned approximately any non secular/non religiuos communities. in case you do no longer see that during different "non secular countries" , the regulations for divorce are plenty complicated to acquire and a few countries do no longer enable women to ask for one (additionally women have not got the finacial freedom to realize this, kinfolk will disown them etc...) I stay in an extremely liberal province in Canada, not often the Bible Belt of the country, and the stats practice that we've the optimum cost of divorce. particularly because of the fact divorce is far less annoying to get and that maximum folk have confidence that divorce is okay if a pair is gloomy. study shows that technology X and Y and have greater standards of marriage (unrealistic ones) and supply much less annoying than previous generations. there is such assorted factors interior the upward thrust in divorce (besides the reality that the fees have stabilized), can no longer purely can no longer pin on one element :)

Definately. But, of course, logic isn't exactly a friend to Christians.
