I go by the ancient Greek saying, "The unexamined life is not worth living."
To extend that to R&S...the unexamined spiritual belief is not worth having.
If your beliefs can't stand up to a challenge from a non-believer or somebody who believes something different, then they're not worth having. The most obnoxious religious people are those who just spout what they've learned in church without testing those beliefs for themselves. All reputable religions challenge their members to challenge the religion they're in. Prove it wrong, prove it right...just prove it to yourself.
Though I'm not an atheist, I welcome all challenges to religion and spirituality, because I don't want to espouse any beliefs without question.

The joke about the liver poisioning is refering to how SOME folks answers are driving the rest of us to drink excessively in order to cope with your cavlier attitudes and yuor condemning ways.
Pangel, I learn from everyone who makes a decent question or answer. I have seen some VERY spiritual questions and answers come form MANY atheiest in here and some pretty stupid questions and answers come form the most devout Chrisitans. No one has the franchise on
Some folks can look at a field of grain and see nothing but a bunch of grass, While others can see the bread baking in the oven. the only difference is who can seperate the wheat from the chaff. And I've noticed that there are folks from ALL beliefs who are able to figure things out for what they REALLY are and others who insist on condemning anyone who doesn't believe exactly as they do.

Some of my favorite people here are Atheists (among many other beliefs) I have learned a great deal from them and been challenged to look at things differently. I would not be the person I have become without them here.

Being an Agnostic, I'm not a Christian. But just the same I enjoy reading about what the Christians in here say because it helps me to understand their thought patterns. Even though I don't agree with many things that they say, I nevertheless think that for the most part, they are fine people.

My, I love the special attention we're getting tonight!
OK, to seriously answer this question, I am not hear to knock down Christianity or any other religion. Sure, there's a few who push their beliefs upon people, and that gives me a reason to be sarcastic, but I do respect people's faith regardless.
I learn new things ever day, but I have never claimed to know everything there possibly is out there.

I come on here to be totally amazed that people can still, in this day and age, believe that Christianity is about a man in the sky, and a book of alleged superstition, myth, bloodshed, contradiction and bigotry called the Bible.
Hell, if that were true I'd be an atheist, too!

Uh Not Really most of them that I have noticed are always trying to stir stuff up (trouble) and I don't see why they are in here because it seems to me if they are non believers in anything they aren't religious or spiritual so it makes no sense why they would be here except to start trouble?/???? But they will always be in here so I'm used to it. And don't care... Maybe they will learn something and come to know Christ as their Lord that is my prayer! God Bless You!

I am a Christian
I am an alcoholic, and was just thinking about having a drink when you showed up...
I asked the question and my son has asked that question, and I think we Christians are going to destroy a lot of livers...
now try, "Pascal's Wager" or, "Do atheists just want to deny God so that they can live hedonistic and immoral lives?"
