In the Greek pantheon, Artemis is the patron goddess of children, as well as a skilled huntress. She would be a perfect one. Another goddess of protection is Bastet, from the Egyptian pantheon, who takes the form of a panther.
Although, praying alone won't do it. You must intervene. The gods and goddesses will give you the strength to help.

The parents.
You see parents are gods to a child. They provide everything from food to shelter to love to instruction. If the parents do not abuse the children and make sure the children are not put in settings where abuse will occur, the children will remain safe from abuse.
As far as supernatural beings, there are none who we know of that will provide such protection with any guarantee.

How about Saint Nicholas (the real saint, not Santa):
"In the West Nicholas is most widely known as the patron saint of children. Many of his stories tell of children rescued from calamity and returned to the care and keeping of their families."
He's not a deity though, he's a saint.

And in Buddhism & Shintoism there is Kariteimo, Suiten, Kannon, and others associated with children:

I don't know why you are asking this, I hope you aren't in a horrible situation. If you are, I suggest the police and child welfare agencies be your first option to stop child abuse, if not that then I'd toss the abusers in the ring with a very angry Tito Ortiz for a while.

I would also consider praying for the intercession of Mother Theresa. She has not yet been named a saint but I understand that a few miracles have already been attributed to her. However as many of the posters have stated God and the Saints have empowered us on earth to assist and protect children. Pray for strength but do what you need to do by getting involved in the child's life and you can do this anonymously.
Good Luck to you and the child

Gods do not protect children. Adults protect children.

Nope. If there were gods that protected children from abuse, there wouldn't be child abuse...

Jesus; "Suffer the little children to come unto Me..."
Of course, if you know of an abusive situation you can and should report it to the authorities...(which you can do anonymously) no matter who is involved. Children die from abuse...you don't want that on your conscience if there is anything you can do to help.
