If I could, it would turn you on, wouldn't it?

And John Lennon was murdered years after saying that.

John Lennon said they were more famous than Jesus. I also doubt he said much at all shortly after being murdered.

He made those statements MANY years before he died.

I will give you an example of exactly the opposite. Every day I wake up and say, "God, any of them if you exist, feel free to strike me down today with a definitively obvious death so that others may believe." I then wait ten seconds. I then say, "All right then my only conclusion shall be that the concept of gods is a fraud."

Edit: CJ is also lying as Graham (forget his last name) went on to make several movies and continued to mock the idea of god until he died of alcoholism. So if the Christian god chose to kill him slowly then that really isn't mush of a wrath of god is it?

This is nothing more than coincidence.... You dont honestly believe that your all loving God murdered these people, do you?

The men that built the Titanic never said that - the MEDIA put those words in their mouths. Also, Lennon was shot YEARS after saying that.

It's all a matter of unfortunate coincidence. The deaths of those associated with the Titanic had nothing to do with a statement from the ship-builder. Lennon's comment had nothing to do with being murdered.

Overconfidence better explains the first's death...John Lennon's comment may have been among his assassin's rationales for going through with the killing. God had nothing to do with either (and, to be honest, does it seem fair for God to have sunken the Titanic and kill hundreds of innocent people due to what one man said?)

I don't know enough about the examples you cited to discuss them, but N. Test. Acts 12:21-12:23 may be an example of what you are looking for.

The verses are interesting to consider in terms of individual spiritual corruption coinciding with the departing of inspir[it]ation.

Cause-and-effect is not just "tit-for-tat" hocus pocus. Many times the tendencies which manifest as "smite-worthy" behavior are precisely those which lead to ultimate demise. Thus, by avoiding a frame of mind which could lead to a "no-no" checkpoint, one develops habits which keep one further from a given "smiting zone."

Spiritual paradigms often mirror and enhance so-called "common sense;" this is one reason why they stick around.

John Lennon stated the Beatles were more popular than Jesus in about 1967. He was assassinated in 1980.

What about all the people who pray to God but die anyway. Like the Utah miners...?

I don't know about the guy on the Titanic, but it was 30 years between John saying that and his death, Incidentally he was shot by a christian. many here badmouth god daily and don't die. George Carlin,Bill Maher, Penn and Teller all alive and doing well, Richard Dawkins in great health. So your hopes of god killing those of us that don't believe in him are very slim. thanks for the well wishes though !

Neither Osama Bin Laden, nor Eric Robert Rudolph, nor Fred Phelps have suffered from divine wrath. To me, these people mock god more than any non-believer ever could, because they do unspeakable evil in his name.

Do you really worship a being so petty and vengeful? Is your god a narcissistic murderer?

God has nothing to do with it.
The first one, I guess you could misconstrue it, but the fact that, to get to New York from England, you had to pass through a patch of iceburgs to get there quickest kills that theory.
The second one is ridiculous, and, if there was a loving god, Lennon wouldn't be dead, the guy who said it would be.
