Nelly, be clean an Holy before God.
Obey what He is already showing you to do.
The spirit will speak to you when you "prepare
a way" as John the Baptist said.
"Sweep your house clean" and invite Him!
Have the Word of the Lord in your heart as well
by reading the Word more - this will cleanse you
too. Be willing to be diligent in serving the Lord.
Then, after that, really be yourself when you pray,
don't just pray what you are supposed to pray,
but really make it what you are really thinking
and hoping - have a conversation with the Lord.
You can tell the Lord everything - and He
already knows anyway, but want's you to talk
so that you can recieve what you ask in faith.

I hope that helped! Also, don't always go
by feelings, but by true belief, trust, knowing
the importance of worshiping God.
Ask yourself what your strongest beliefs are
and how you would like to become stronger.

I don't cope with it very well, but I know I am not alone, King David often cries out to God to stop being silent in the Psalms. The best advice anyone gave me is not to forget in the darkness what you learnt in the light. The Bible says God is with us always, and so He is. The silence will one day be over and you will have learnt to trust Him through it.

i really hear your heart here!! all Christians go through periods where we feel that we are not hearing from God!! However i want to tell you that Jesus loves you and is right beside you at this very moment!! sometimes when we don't feel the presence of God in our lives it is allowed to teach us important lessons and can be God desiring us to seek Him more!! i would like you to read this book by Charles R. Swindoll,'When God Is Silent' Choosing to trust in life's trials. Jesus wants to have a beautiful relationship with you ever day, keep praying and seeking after the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. May the Lord richly bless you and may His Holy Spirit become more and more real to you in your walk with Christ. Amen....

Well on Sundays he's too busy listening to football players prayers and deciding which team deserves to win this week.
Try praying on a different day.

I was thinking maybe he needs glasses so he can see what the hell is going on down here and straighten out a few things like the war, child abuse, hunger, crime, etc.

I'm sorry I don't believe in fairy tales aka the bible.....

Be patient, and listen. He will speak to you, sometimes through others, or dreams & visions or situations, or directly. One thing I do know, He will never tell you anything that will contradict His word i.e the Bible.
If you think you get a word from God, and its not backed up by scripture, forget it !
I, and my prayer team will pray for you to hear His voice.

By the way, have you tried reading the bible to see what He has to say ? sometimes the simplest methods are the best, and there are some really cool bibles around like "the Message" & "new Living translation"

Bless you

May i give you some advice ? Just the fact that you think and speak about God, means he is present in your thoughts....
See God as a spirit, like love and peace etc.
All spirits need bodies to work through, so let the good ones , which are all part of God, work through you.
God is the word, to be spread by His Son, which should be us, and is only silent when not spoken about and not listened to....Allow Him as much space in your mind as you possibly can...

God is not too important to listen to you, but you are not important enough for Him to go against His nature and perform for you like a puppet. God hears the prayer of a righteous person.

Have you ever been saved? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? If not he willnot answer your prayers, the only prayer he will here from an unsaved person is the sinners prayer or prayer of repentence as some call it. Do you believe Jesus came to earth for your sins and mine, do you believe he died on a cross and then arose from the grave washing away our sins forever? Are you willing to admit and confess that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour? The bible says that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, it also says none is righteous, no not one. If you believe you can say a sinners prayer right now and get saved, if you believe with all your heart, just say, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, If you did recieve Christ the Holy Spirit has come and moved into your heart, now Jesus will here you and answer your Prayers, and remember, God works in mysterious ways sometimes. May God Bless YOU!!

he hears everything you say to him and about him. whether you believe it or not, he is listening and wants whats best for you. maybe the answer you want to hear isn't what he wants for you. if you give yourself totally to him then you will see results, only he can see the whole picture, we only see right now, we can't foresee the outcome of our desires, he has reasons for what happens in our lives. just because you can't see the whole point yet, doesn't mean it's not important part of gods plan. just trust in him, that he's doing the right thing for you, even if your not so happy with it right now. one day all of gods reasons will be made clear to us, until then, we are expected to have faith that he's caring for us and has us in the only place we need to be .
