We have all seen what happens when a species from one part of the world is put in a different part of the world. The environment suffers because the species is not native to the area. Look at what humans are and what we have become. Is it possible we were brought here from another planet and because we are not native to this planet have caused it problems? Is it also possible that modern humans started out as a crossbreed an experiment done by otherworldly beings?

skepsis, that is why I added the part about humans being a crossbreed. We share a lot of similarities to several species, including the chimpanzee and the dolphin. There are some things about our DNA that would suggest that we are an experiment, like our ability to speak. How is it that we just happened to evolve the way we did? how is it that we, if we evolved from a common ancestor as the chimps and apes, that our intelligence and knowledge have surpassed every other species on this planet? How did we advance as quickly as we have?

swbarnes, then explain to me why we have quite a few things in common with aquatic mammals such as dolphins. Explain to me why it's more natural and less painful for us humans to give birth in water, why a human baby is born similarly to a dolphin baby by twisting in the birth canal. Explain why we have conscious control over our breathing and other primates do not. Explain our ability to speak. Explain why we have advanced as fast as we have. Explain why humans needed the use of fire. Explain why we live outside the laws of nature. Explain why we feel the need to control nature when other animals don't have to. There are some species of animals that have been evolving longer than us, explain why they have not realized they are naked and why they do not worry about science and religion. How and why did we evolve into power and money hungry unnatural beasts when no other species on this planet has.

The Genographic Project on the National Geographic Website has some interesting information that might support that theory.

Ignore the politically correct conclusions showing a few shaky links connecting everyone back to the Upper Nile. Also ignore the shift from one MtDNA group to another. MtDNA structure is incerdibly stable (which is why they track it). I don't think they had a sophisticated gene-splicer back then.

Have a look at the raw data on the maps themselves, and you can see the simultaneous appearance of distinctly different genetic groups in about 5-6 separated geographic locations. It almost looks like humanity was "seeded."

Yes, its very possible that humans are descendants from an extra terrestrial source. However, I do believe that human kind is "still" evolving and have not yet reached its apex in terms of development. It would interesting to see how human being evolve over the next 1K, 10K or 100K years! As for the religious side, creationism is a misguided and deceptive interpretation. The religious right ... what a waste of time.

Recently I've seen a documentary on National Geographic, showing bacteria that survived both colder and hotter environments as meteorites experience before and during impacts...

That... really made me wonder.

Maybe we're just a classroom experiment of some toddler aliens, could... also be true.

I just don't know, we've only been "playing" with science for a few centuries. We scientifically don't even know more as 1% of what's going on in those billiards of neurons of our own brains.

I guess It will stay a mystery for several millenia to come.

Every stage of the evolution of human beings from Earth species is well documented. I am fully aware of the idea that humans are an experiment conducted by aliens, or even aliens themselves. It doesn't wash - there would be a great deal more evidence if that was the case.

I can understand the concern, but technically, our DNA has too much in common with the other species here. Either we are ALL transplants or we're all native. In any case, how we came to be is no excuse for not taking care of our enviroment.
