So... i have 20 dollars in my account until tomorrow lol... so i gotta make dinner on a budget..

my boyfriend isnt feeling so good so i wanna surprise him with dinner! It gets harder though.. hes a VERY picky eater.

He only eats red meat (no chicken/seafood- i know.. so horrible for him- i cant belive how skinny he is with this diet!) and doesnt like many veggies besides like corn.

Things he likes are like pizza, steak, pasta, etc. Any ideas for manly man dinners on a budget lol?

Why not just make pizza, steak or pasta?

Try getting a loaf of french bread from the bakery inside your grocery store. They are usually only 99 cents. Get some spaghetti sauce, 1 lb. hamburger meat, some cheap italian seasoning and shredded mozzarella cheese. You could even buy some italian sausage, too. If he likes salad, you could get a bag of that salad mix that all you have to do is throw it in the bowl with dressing. Very cheap. Under $10 bucks probably! Try to make sure you don't get sauce with a lot of extra garlic in it. Not good for a date! Then go home, brown the meat in a pan and drain the fat. Put the italian seasoning on the meat and let it cook for a few more minutes. In another pan, or your microwave, heat the sauce. If you get the sausage, cook it with your hamburger meat. Then cut open the french bread like a huge sub-sandwich. Place the bottom piece of bread onto a foiled cookie sheet. Spread some sauce onto it. Then a layer of cheese. Spread some of the meat mixture onto it, top with more sauce and cheese. This can get messy, so becareful. Then lay the other piece of bread next to it with a small amount of cheese on it so that it will toast. If you like, you can put both pieces of bread cut side up and do this to each side, sauce, cheese, meat and more sauce and cheese. Put in the broiler (at the top or bottom of your oven) for just 2-3 minutes. Stuff burns VERY fast in the boiler. Keep checking on it and as soon as the cheese is melted and bubbly, take it out. Let it cool a bit, put the sandwich together (if you didn't do it open-face) then cut smaller sections out and serve it next to your salad. It's like french bread pizza. I'm just he would love it! And since it's so cheap, you can probably even afford some ice cream or something for dessert! Good luck!

being the manly man man man that I am, i would go for a steak with a little garlic, salt and pepper grilled or fried with a generous amount of fries or maybe some coleslaw (just pick up a $3 bag of coleslaw mix at any grocery store it usually has the full recipe on the back) and if that isn't possible, just some mashed potatoes and a gravy made from the steak juice. YUMMERZ!!

For twenty dollars you can feed both of you dinner for four nights! I did it, and my husband and I are both 'real foodies' ... get some nice steaks, buy some 'Yukon yellow' potatoes (they're tiny, but they are really tasty) and some frozen vegetables ... and CORN is not a vegetable, it's a starch, so get some peas or green beans or even squash and tell him that he must eat at least three bites ... then 'reward him' with a nice dessert ... for him, I think that some nice chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream would hit the 'spot' ... his 'I don't feel good' spot. I swear that ANY MAN can 'find room' for some vanilla ice cream and a chocolate chip cookie ... and he'll feel better, too. Believe it or not your telling him that he 'must eat three bites' of a vegie he doesn't like will help him feel 'loved' and 'mothered' in a 'good way' by you, his 'girlfriend' ... I don't know why, but I know it does work.

You could buy steak with a bone in it, some cheap rice (try the hispanic section or 99 cent store) cut the beef off most of the bone. Boil the bone to make stock. Season it add the steak (cut up) and add the rice. Voila! Soup ;)

Make some nice hamburgers with provolone or Bleau Cheese and onions, make some oven baked fries.

Use lipton onion soup mix to flavour the meat, worcestershire sauce and some chilie powder, just a smidge.

After Chicken Alfredo, the best would be something light u know. u dont want to overpower the dessert after a heavy meal. just make some custart and jello, u can layer it and the custards' yellow and the jello color would POP! and its still light. on top u can add some fresh chopped fruit, diced apples, grapes cut in hlves, and bananas go great. u can also top it with a little bit of ice cream or reddiwhip/whip cream.

How about good old fashioned cheeseburgers? Purchase a pound of lean ground beef. Mix it with one package of Lipton's Onion soup mix, 1 egg, 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, and 1 T Worcestershire. Form into 4 patties and let sit for about 1 hour. Grill over high heat to sear and then reduce the heat to medium to finish cooking. Purchase hamburger buns and grill them to crisp and heat. Top with a mixture of mayonaise, mustard, and ketchup, a slice of tomato, lettuce, a slice of cheddar cheese, and your burger. You can repeat this sequence for double cheese burgers if you want. Take two baking potatos and cut into 8ths. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 30 minutes, turning over to allow all sides to crisp. Serve with burgers.

I like to cook this for my hubby if he's having a bad day :

I get some beef cubes, the ones for making stew, and some white rice. I marinate the beef in soy sauce then throw it in a pan and cook it. Then cook some rice and throw the meat on top.

Or ... kielbasa and egg noodles ... fry the kielbasa in ollive oil in a pan .. boil the noodles ... mix together and he loves it !
