without it for so long before it was created? Seems strange how it wasn't written at the start of mankind rather than 2/3 of the way through our existence? Or is this more proof that it is complete nonsense?

The buy-bull is complete nonsense. There is substantial proof of that.

Considering that Christianity has nothing origianl about it... the owrld was pretty much the same, just without fanatcial Chritians. Considering that all rituals, dates, and concepts were literally ripped off from other pagan religions it is hardly surprising. The idea of a man-god of virgin birth who is sacrificed and resurrected is as old as humanity. Many of them were born around Dec. 25th... (winter solstice) and they rise again on by the spring equinox... gee what a coincidence. I guess the world was Chritian and they didn';t know it. Or maybe, Chritisnas have no idea from whence their religion came from.
Believe in the feeling, not in the words!

There was oral history before Moses came along who wrote the Torah in collabnoration with God and after that God spoke thru the prophets and that became the rest of the Tenakh !!! Daniel the prophet predicted the year that the Jewish messiah would come and hence Jesus was born as predicted, so He taught the disciples that became
apostles, and the Holy Spirit of God fell upon them and they went as far as they could to deliver God's word to the nations and that word we have now is called the bible and the rest became history in your history books !!!
If you seek rock hard evidence Jesus is coming back in your lifetime by all present prophetic happeninjgs !!! If you have an open mind check out the following

The Old Testament writers like Moses began writing the words of God after the Exile from Egypt. Before this the promises to the ancient men of God were passed down through oral tradition. Yet and inspired oral tradition that kept the word pure.
Jesus told others to read the scriptures because it was these scriptures that spoke of him. At the time of Jesus only the Old Testament books were written.
It is faith in the promises of God that saved those in the times before Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament was written around the time of Moses. The New testament was written shortly after Christ died. Also there were God's prophets. God has never left mankind without some form of guideline.

Hmmm, let's see- We did not begin written history until the Phoenicians or Sumerians. That was 2/3 of the way through, as you put it. It was begun by Moses, so that's another thousand years, give or take a couple hundred. That puts us around the time of the Egyptians. Well that takes us to Moses, who takes us to God. Cool, all taken care of.

The Bible was a compilation of letters and books that had already been around hundreds of years, used by the early church.

Your question is really not all that difficult to answer.

Kinda sophomoric.

Try again.

Some of the stories in the bible are nothing more than rewritten Greek and Roman myths, just as some of the saints were gods and goddesses that were changed to suit the christian theology.

Au contraire. We got off easy. The people who made up the nation of Israel had, I think, over 300 laws in the Old Testament books.

Those who did not worship the one true God lived as they liked. Hm. Sounds familiar.
