Revelations 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Revelations 2:7 To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Ecclesiastes 9:8 Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
Ezekiel 42:14 When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.
Ezekiel 44:23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
24 And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

The temple is a sacred place we go to to make sacred covenants with God through ordinances, just like baptism is an ordinance done in making a covenant with Christ that we will follow his example. The temple ordinances are there to help us live more Christ-like lives and to help us be better people. The reason why non-Mormons or even Mormons under the age of 18 don't enter the temple is because it is important to understand and live the basics of the Gospel of Jesus Christ beforehand, just like a student will need to know Algebra before moving on to Calculus. Otherwise, such a person entering the temple wouldn't really understand much of what is going on. Anywho, I hope I was able to be of some help. If you have any other questions feel free to message me.

The LDS Temple ceremonies are not secret, they are sacred and people who have made covenants in the temple will not discuss these with you because they are sacred to them and they would be profaning the sacred by discussing them.
These rituals are all over the internet on many websites and people who make fun of them don't understand and, like the Lord said on the cross, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" so I do forgive all you folk who are ignorant and make fun of things you don't understand. I chalk this up to immaturity and bad manners more than anything else.
I think anyone here who has a religious belief and attends meetings of that organization has rites and ceremonies that are precious to them and would be put off by somebody making fun of them and the way they worship. I would say before you ridicule, which shows your ignorance, bad manners and immaturity, to do a little research and find out why people believe and worship as they do. You might get enlightened and have a little more appreciation for other beliefs.

Sadly, as shown here, something that is very sacred to millions is quickly made a joke of by those who do not understand.
There are no secrets. If it were secret, none of us would know anything!
As has been stated, we learn truths about our Heavenly Father, the Creation, the divine plan our Father has for us, where we came from and where we can go. We make covenants and promises with the Lord, ourselves, and when being married, to our spouse. It is the most beautiful, wonderful, sacred and holy place I have ever been. I truly believe it is where heaven and earth touch.
As for the person above who said they felt uneasy in the temple - I would bet they weren't either worthy or spiritually prepared to be there so of course it would not make sense to them. It would be like trying to learn Algebra when you didn't know how to add or subtract or multiply, you would have no clue what you were doing and it would be a bad experience.
I LOVE THE TEMPLE!

The temples are for the performance of sacred ordinances that will give us the knowledge we need to know to return to our Heavenly Father's presence. The information is sacred, not secret. We do not talk about them outside of the temples because we don't want a bunch of profane conversation discussing things they know nothing about. As the Bible says, don't cast your pearls before swine. There are plenty of examples of swine in this forum that pretend to talk about sacred things and in so doing profane the name of deity and everything related thereto. If you are genuinely interested in learning about temple work, then I recommend that you contact your local LDS missionaries, go to church and do the things necessary to bring your life in conformity with the teachings of Christ. Then you may be blessed with the temple ordinances just like so many others have been blessed before you.

All you have to do to find out is:
Meet with the missionaries
Live a life free of adultery, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, etc.
Gain a testimony of restoration of the gospel, Joseph Smith, Gordon B. Hinckley, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.
Be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Pay a full tithe (10% of your increase)
Fulfill your callings
Be a member for over 1 year.
Meet with the Bishop, the the Stake Pres., who will interview you to make sure you are worthy to enter the temple.
Then you too can learn what goes on in there.

If I told you then I'd have to tell everyone
and if I told everyone then it would no longer be a SECRET!
No dances
No parties
Yes rituals occur (what would be the point to a religious building without ritual?)
And finally, Ceremonies are synonomous with rituals.

As in the past, God instructs his people to build temples. In the more than 100 temples that exist today, people learn eternal truths, ordinances are performed such as marriage for time and all eternity, and service is performed on behalf of people who died without a knowledge of the Gospel, such as baptism on behalf of ancestors who have died.
Temples are among our most sacred buildings. Please treat them as you'd want us to treat your most sacred beliefs. Don't make light of them.

A lot of Mormons will consider this a very touchy subject.
I can answer your question totally without saying a thing about Mormon rituals. See this site I am linking. It talks about Mason rituals, and will mirrior Mormons rituals perfectly. Now think about that for a minute. Hmmmmm.
