Would your god not want you to learn all you can about the world around you? Embrace science, do not be afraid of it.

Or do I just sound like a snake in the grass?

Esther, do you mean the same bible that gives us a flat earth, 4-legged insects, bats that are birds of the air and rabbits that chew their cud?

Jimithy, can you show me in the original Hebrew the addendum, "of Good and Evil." It wasn't in the bible until the King James Version was printed.

Well, to think about it...do you BLAME Adam and Eve when they ate from the "Tree of knowledge of GOOD and EVIL?" Before they ate from it, they didn't know right from wrong, no? So was it their fault? I mean, if you tell someone not to do something...say...don't think of purple elephants, the first thing you'll do is...think of purple elephants...know what I mean? Anyway, I guess what Chrisitanity (in this part of Genesis anyway) is saying is that in order to follow God's word or whatever, we should be idiots, also, that means Christians should not go to schools...since school is a place to gain what? Knowledge...so from that point of view Christians don't want to be knowledgable? If so, get outta school and go away...lol. j/k on that but...still, I would like someone to answer that question, e-mail me if you gotta answer. Hope I helped some!!! ^_^

Some of the great scientific minds were christians, or at least believed that there was a god, like Isaac Newton. We christians are savy, and we distinguish between what is provable, and what is preposterous and has no evidential support. Christians would approve evolution if there was scientific evidence, but even the evidence that has been put up by the community has faltered; whereas, the evidence for the bible not just being a "story book," but a factual record of the history of the Jews has been evidentially proven time and time again. The only thing in the Bible that isn't proven is the miracles and God himself. But believers are left to experiencing that for themselves. You are not a snake in the grass. You are no more harmful than a snail in the grass. So to answer your question. Many children of God are scientific minds, but use much more reasoning, rather than the accepting of mere jotted ink, and word of mouth. Even the bible says to test the spirits. We test the bible daily, and the things in it. Not everything can be explained either. Christians embrace science all the time. There are many undeniable scientific facts that are welcome, but we thrust out the garbage (lies). We love to learn about the world around us, and a great many of us are very interested in linguistics, history, and archeology, animal & plant life, cause they all point to greater evidence in a creator. We think for ourselves, we don't rely on someone else to tell us. You have a misconception about believers. We are the most unbelieving sort really. And friend, we are the snakes in the grass.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Matt. 10:16).

And, also, you have no reference to the "Tree of Knowledge" other than the bible, where it came from. But you misquoted it. It's the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.---

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, " Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2:16)

We've eaten from that tree. And we do every time we sort out science between that which is good, and that which is evil.

Kinshin Himura--

You mean the science that many christians and Jews helped to establish that later turned into the computer that you are using to bash a sweet little christian girl.

Here's a list of scientists who believed in God, that without their contribution, we'd have nothing you are talking about--

You have to ask yourself, "If God created everything, then that means he has knowledge of everything. So if a person believes in the one who has knowlege of everything, and is the essense of all knowledge, does that really make those people stupid, unless God does not exist at all," which everyone will find out one day....

And-Jehovah's witness (watchtower), Mormons, Christian Science, and and anything other than true 2000 year old christianity is a cult and not the same thing. I wouldn't recommend studying with them. The have much deeper issues that present themselves later on, which are erroneous.

When it comes down to it all though, Jesus is the Son of God, and is God manifested in the flesh. He came to die for your sins that you "might" enter heaven upon your death. Jesus said, "He who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the only begotten son of God...

There is no present day prohibition of eating from the Tree of Knowledge. And no; G-d wants you to learn, think and do the laws which he has given at Mt. Sinai. And finally; learn all about science because it is G-d who has given science as well.

Ummmm...I'm no theologian, but it was "the tree of knowledge of good and evil", not "the tree of knowledge". If you're going to attack someones beliefs, then do some more research on your part. I happen to know a lot of intelligent Christians who excel in science. Science and religion aren't rivals.

it had nothing to do with science. Science doesn't scare me. I happen to like science. However, The actual name was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It wasn't meant for us to know evil.

We have continued to eat from the "Tree of Knowledge" since Eve and Adam had the first bite. That's why (one of the reasons) we HAVE to have Jesus as our savior. None is without sin.

because it has been guarded by god were no one can get to it. after adam & eve sinned they were punished and ashamed so they wore clothes to cover up themselves. that's why we wear clothes today haha ha ha. but really the tree of knowlege is a figurative tree not a literal one. its the tree of knowlege of good and bad. so failure to respect god's decree concerning the latter brought man's fall. that's why we are sinners today. I imagine that God, like kings and other rulers, want their subjects too stupid to realize that they don't have to follow.

Also.. to the poster above me.. Just because humans don't know everything, doesn't mean SCIENCE is unreliable. Humans are still trying to learn. Is a child in school unreliable just because he hasn't learned his ABCs yet, or how to solve 98(x+45)+34(7+y)=y(16-4)+78
