Dear Versailles,

i answered your other quesiton which was similar. In the Bible Jesus said "let the little children come to me." And also teaches that anyone who keeps children from coming to Him by stumbling them or misadvising them- it is better for them to have a millstone tied to their neck and thrown in the ocean.

i can say that the Chrisitan church and the Bible does not have a problem - and there is no curse or anything weird like that on the person.

Remember God loves you!!

Kindly,

Nickster

No Christianity doesn't discriminate about that, but the US did at one time, my husband has a friend that was born when they still stamped BASTARD in big red letters on birth certificates. Someone had to go to the Supreme Court and explain to these wise men that there are no illegitimate children only illegitimate adults. This poor guy had this on his birth certificate all these years.

No. The Bible says that a person born out of wedlock could not go into the Jewish temple. I believe it has to do with ministering within the walls of the temple.

Now that this misconception has been corrected, is there something you need to say to the rest of us in way of an apology for making a false accusation? (or was that an honest "I really don't know, but want to" question?)

By church you mean the Church instituted by Jesus, right.
Such children can enter the Church, of course. And they are in no way cursed. The prophet Jeremiah pointed out that sin is on the person who commits it and not on relatives. So, many have thought as your question implies, no doubt. But that is not the thought of the church, but of the world.
Jesus wanted children brought to him and he said "who receives them receives me."

The verse you are referring to is this:

Deuteronomy 23:2 (New American Standard Version)
"No one of illegitimate birth shall enter the assembly of the Lord; none of his descendants, even to the tenth generation, shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

This, of course, refers to *the* Jewish temple (or, more accurately, the tabernacle carried by the Jews on their trip to the promised land). this is part of The Law of Moses.

For Christians, there is Acts:
Acts 15:28-29
28. "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:
29. that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell."

This message to the Gentiles excuses them from the remainder of the Law of Moses, including circumcision, among other things. Even if one were to consider a Christian congregation to qualify as "the assembly of the Lord" (original text uses the tetragrammaton), scripture excuses non-Jews from this restriction.

The parents are guilty of adultry but the child doesn't pay for the sins of the parents. The answer is no they aren't cursed and they can be saved in the Lord's church.

I'm not sure of where you read that but if it is in the Bible it will be Old testament. We have a New testament. Jesus Christ came and died (and rose again) for everyone. You should read the book of John

It does say that they cannot enter the assembly of the Lord, and neither can their descendants up until the tenth generation.
