I'm optimistic about the future. We have the ability to make enormous scientific and technical advances although sometimes we're lacking the foresight, drive and ambition to take such steps.

As you've asked this question in the global warming section I guess you're referring to the future in this resepct. There are many negative consequences to GW, there are also some positives.

Humans are intelligent, adaptable and resourceful; we've overcome climatic challenges in the past when we prevented the destruction of the ozone layer, addressed the problem of acid rain and significantly improved the air we breathe.

People denied these things were happening but scientific fact won through and we were able to take steps to resolve such problems, I beleive we can do the same with global warming.

I am pretty positive about the future, but I do worry about the future of the US.

The oil will run out. Populations a growing too. A lot of countries are looking into nuclear power to support their populations like India and China... some say that so they can make weapons I guess, but most countries realize the need a new fuel sources and nuclear has been well developed.

Statistics wise that the American people support the growth of nuclear power, but personally I have never seen that. A problem for the US is that companies and stuff won't invest in it, because it is pricey, but pays off in the long run. Problem is too that since we halted our nuclear industry, other countries, esp. France and Japan, sit on latest and greatest technology. So, we got to buy things from them, which some are not excited about that fact.

I just think if the US is slow to act, it might hurt our economy. Other than that, it looks good. I hope the satistics are right.

Hi Yowsie.

Am I negative about the future of the world? Well, I would have to say yes and no.

Humankind most certainly is destroying the world; there's no getting away from that certainty. I am negative about the future of the world. We are heading in a downward spiral, both environmentally and society-wise (socially).

Where are we heading? To The very end. Whether it's in my lifetime or in another 1,000 years, I do not know; but I do know we're in the end of days.

However, I am also positive about the world because of my beliefs. I am a very spiritual person, and & I believe in God.

In the Bible, Jesus talks about the world coming to an end. He tells us what will happen. Nation will rise up against nation. Violence will abound. Depravity will increase to horrendous levels. There will be extreme changes in weather, with natural disasters occurring everywhere, in ever-increasing frequency.

However, He tells us not to be afraid. These things must happen in order for us to reach the glorious end. He will return; and because He died for our sins, humankind will be saved.

Peace.

I try to remain positive as much as I can,but its hard,,knowing that I would be naive to think otherwise..
We are killing the planet, have been for some time now.We all know that oil supplies will run dry sooner rather than later. This will bring the world to a stand still, everything needs oil, even this PC I'm now using was made with oil, clothes are made with oil, everything you can think of somewhere down the line needs oil to be made, forget transport, that's the least of our worries. Not to mention global warming. All i can do to remain positive is do my best to conserve energy and teach younger people the importance of caring for our planet.I cant see the world lasting another 200 years,,,very sad
