public school prayer, the pledge, etc. to themselves? If they don't like something, fine. JUST KEEP IT TO YOURSELF INSTEAD OF FORCING IT ON THE REST OF THE POPULATION. If you don't like abortion, don't get one. If you don't like gays, stay straight.

We are not forcing our beliefs on you. Are we trying to make you have an abortion or become gay? That's YOUR choice. If you don't want to do it, fine; just don't force your views on others. Let them do as they please. Abortion and homosexuality do not hurt you or society.

My ignorance? If you remember correctly, the first amendment prohibits the favoring of one religion over another (or non-religion). I think that you are the fool.

MY MISTAKE: When I mean public prayer, I mean state-mandated prayer in public schools. Forgive me. If people want to pray in streets, that is perfectly legal.

In the US, Christians often try to over-step the separation of church state. How many Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, and Buddhists do that? Not many.
NOTE: No one is trying to ban religion in this country. If you want to believe in a religion, that's fine with me. Just don't expect everyone else to go along with you by molding legislation based on religion.

They can open their mouths. That is fine. But they shouldn't pass laws for or against anything based on their religion because that conflicts with the separation.

By exercising my right to vote and to free speech I guess I am making it hard on you if I vote for things you oppose and say things that you oppose. Unfortunately, that's what a democracy is all about. I don't have to think like you or vote like you, or do anything you do. You don't have to vote or think like me. But democratic republics operate on the basis of having the representatives of the people represent the views and values of the people they represent, within reason. Separation of Church and State refers to the idea that there shall be no state religion and that religions will play no part in the running of the government. And that's how the USA runs. It's not a matter of Christians making laws that you don't like, it's a matter of the majority making laws that you don't like. So either live with the laws, protest the laws, break the laws and take the consequences or move to some other country. Take your choice.

Preach on, G-Man! I understand your promotion of separation of Church and State, but can you blame it all on Christians? Prayer was taken out of school decades of go, by an Atheist. The abortion issue isn't soley a Christian issue either, several religions are anti, not including the myriad of human rights activists. The homosexual battle, well, they're being recognized in some Christian churches as leaders even. In other words, my friend, it's easy to blame the Christians, but are we really the reason?

rattling. it fairly is like an essay. yet in spite of the staggering length, you controlled to coach your factor somewhat properly and that i under no circumstances detected even a sprint of rambling. properly performed sir. properly now that i've got thoroughly congratulated you, I guess you desire me to respond to the question. So here it is going: first of all, I completely trust you. I recommend, the main reason u . s . a . of america improve into colonized (a minimum of interior the eyes of the colonists - the British have been all into mercantilism on the time) improve into for human beings to have non secular freedom. Christians won't be in a position to apply that purely for his or her very very own benefit. It is going the two strategies. they could't say that they have got the liberty to prepare their faith in peace and not enable others to prepare their very very own as properly. via fact which could be limiting somebody's rights. And, I promise you, it fairly is unconstitutional. yet in order that which you already know, there fairly is a verse interior the Bible that tells them to "stick their noses into different individuals's business enterprise." i could no longer inform you the place it extremely is, yet i've got heard my dad communicate approximately it a lot. It says some thing approximately them having to communicate the fact to anybody who will hear (so ultimately they translate that into forcing their faith onto people who do no longer desire it and childrens who're too youthful to appreciate it). this is absurd how they manage issues to signify some thing thoroughly diverse than what improve into initially meant. this is definitely insane.

Well, they have opinions, just like us Atheists do, they have the right to voice those opinions, but what they don't have the right to do is to make their opinions into laws. It should be legal so if a woman does choose to have an abortion, and no matter what she will have it if she wants it, she'll do anything, do it herself or backally doctor, so which would you rather have a girl to do? Be safe, or for her to possibly kill herself in the process? Off subject but still...hope I answered your question!

They are all about controlling others.I think they have trouble following their own rules, and worry about having their kids stray away from their teaching. so they want to legislate their morality in the hopes that legal measures will be a stronger deterrent than god. After god doesn't punish people on earth he only does that when their dead, unless you've accepted him into your heart then everythings ok.

First of all, Christians are not of one mind on any of the topics you mention. You will find a wide variety of viewpoints. Do you want them all to be silent, or just those that disagree with your view?
Second of all, Christians have as much right to express their views as anybody else. Take that right from us, who will be next?

They need to remember that it's unconstitutional to legislate their religious doctrine into secular law. The entire population of the United States hasn't consented to adhere to the dictates and sanctions of the Christian faith... so why should they force us by law to obey their beliefs?

You actually have that backwards.
The original concept behind separation of church and state was to keep government out of religion. It was a protection for religion being interfered with by the government.
Perhaps you should go back to school and do a little homework before you say silly things that make you look ignorant. That's just a suggestion. You can continue in your ignorance if you desire. I'll try to correct your ignorance, but I won't hold it against you.

No thank you. I have no intention of keeping my beliefs to myself. I also have no intention of separating my faith from how I vote etc. Everyone in this country votes based on how they believe. You believe gay marriage is fine so you vote for it. I believe it is wrong so I vote against it. Christians vote our beliefs and are no different from anyone else in this.
