I need more info sweetie. For example....What branch is he in? Is he deployed or in boot camp? Let me know so I can edit my response.
Yes, letters are great! Along with calling cards, photos, snacks, (Don't send chocolate, anything that can melt, or liquids of ANY form!), razors, (They tend to run out of those pretty fast.), I know that this is going to sound silly, but two-ply toilet paper,(The stuff there is really rough.Ick! Just don't let him get caught with it because they will tease him mercilessly.) , magazines, (Assuming he ever has the time.), and your complete and utter devotion! THAT will make him happiest!
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't know he was in bootcamp, so definitley restrict it to letters only. The rest of the stuff is good for deployment, and since he is in the Army baby wipes are a MUST when he is in the field!
Good luck and stick in there! There are a lot of good support groups for military spouses, families, and significant others on MySpace if you have an account. A good one is the "Support the Troops" group.

In boot camp you a limited on what you can send.
You can send him stuff to wright you and stamps or razors and tooth brush and past. Just make sure it does not have a loud smell. You can also send the back pain pads but not drugs not even aspirin.
My son is almost done with boot camp. This was all I could send.

Send him nothing while he is in Basic. Any food, he has to either eat it all right there or share to the point he gets none.
Just write him letters. Mail boosts moral.
Besides, the military will give him everything he needs.
If you really want to send him something, send him stamps and writing items.

Hand written letters and pictures are best.
Even before he leaves, start writting, that way as soon as you get his address you can start mailing them off.
Nothing says I love and miss you like receiving a letter and pics from home.
Exclude the naughty ones you two took together, until AFTER basic and AIT..

Just letters, and maybe one small wallet-sized picture. Everything they have in basic/boot camp is subject to inspection, including photographs or anything else you might send.
What he'll really appreciate is frequent letters, and don't wait to get one from him before sending another one. He'll be too busy to write every day, but he won't be too busy to get one every day.
If there is any bad news to tell, try to let it wait till he finishes training.

I'd stick to nice letters with a picture or two of yourself. Nude pics and dirty content might get him smoked (doing push-ups until he pukes). And yes, Drill Sergeants screen letters sometimes for dope and such. And sometimes in front of others during "mail call". He has very limited space during Basic, and can buy anything he needs there. So stick to letters to give him moral support.

Pictures, letter, greeting cards and personal items (toothpaste, shaving cream, ect...) are your best bet. Don't send any food, candy, cookies, cigarettes, dirty pics, ect. They will just get taken away, and him possibly in trouble. Also, be patient with him, he may not have lots of time to write you letters, he will be very busy.

depends where he is at. if he is in basic the only thing you can really send him is pics and letters. i tried sending other things to my hubby when he was there but it got him in trouble...if he is deployed you can send them anything but porn, drugs, alcohol, and stuff like that.
