Would you be willing to sacrifice yourself and go to hell for eternity if it meant the entire rest of the world would get to go to heaven?

Hypothetical question obviously. Really think about it before you answer. Thanks.

90% of you are morones who have no idea what the word HYPOTHETICAL means. I am sorry I asked the question because these are some of the worst answers I've ever received. You all went out of your way to disprove why this is illogical, even though I made it clear that this was hypothetical. You people are sad and ignorant. Goodbye.

Jesus did this at his death.

He died and did go to hell. So, your question is moot because it has already been done.

edit:

You have sent me emails stating that Jesus did not go to Hell for eternity.

Please see in the answer that I say He went to Hell (without mention of eternity). If I did not think you were a 10 year old, I might have gotten aggravated with the tone of your email and the tone of your edition to the question.

There is a song on Christian radio that basically asks that same question, "Would you take His nails?" etc.

Well, if I were to die and go to hell, I couldn't do it for anybody else, because I am already guilty of breaking God's Laws, so it would be the penalty for my OWN sins (crimes against God), and could not cover the sins of any one else.

Paul, however, DID say that he would be willing to be accursed if it could bring his fellow Jews into the promised Messiah, but - like you point out - it's only hypothetical. He WOULD, but that didn't mean he COULD.

But that is impossible... I really can't answer questions like that that are so far from the truth, because they don't make much sense.

Try something that does not conflict so badly with theology, such as, would I be willing to sacrifice myself and get tortured to protect a group of people. That is more realistic.

No. Why? Because Christ already did this, and millions refuse His gift, His sacrifice, and His love. Most people reject Him as He really is. Many worship false Christs. They believe Him to be what they want Him to be, instead of being what and who He is. They "interpret" scriptures that need no interpreting, they deny His true deity as God, and think that He will be tolerant of their repeated, unrepented of, sinful nature.
In short, He gave His life for a world that in large part, could care less.

Thank God and Jesus Christ that's not the way it works.

Salvation is a personal choice, why would I sacrafice my salvation and face an eternity being seperated from the Lord Jesus Christ to ensure the Salvation of those that hate and mock the Lord Jesus Christ. Your question although it is thought provoking to a point is not a practical one.

I would like to say yes but I can't. I don't want to be away from God for all eternity. That is what hell is for Christians, being separate from God for all eternity and I don't think I can say that I would do that for people that don't want to be with God in the first place.

How would sacrificing ourself make us go to hell? Especially if it means everyone else on earth got to go to Heaven? God has said that if you bring but one soul unto Me, how great shall be your joy. Now imagine how great your joy shall be if you bring man souls unto me. So, if we sacrificed ourself for God and the rest of human kind, we would earn a very high spot in Heaven indeed, not a spot in Hell.

That depends, would you do it. I mean self-sacrifice, is that the same as suicide. Just a hypothetical answer.

I'm a Universalist so I already believe all souls will return to the source including the spirits in which some consider demonic.

My going to "hell" for all others to enter into heaven would result in heaven becoming a hell.

There are people who just don't belong there.
