I have been overweight for over ten years.A bad marriage and me giving up, is all it took for me to put on the weight.Although I am tall,5 ft. 11 in.I was weighing 214 pounds. That is not where I wanted to be ,considering My adult weight was always at 150 lbs.I had quit waiting tables when I got married, and so goes the exercising.I have been divorced for ten years but the fat has hung around.I don't get much exercise ,I am a cashier, and I stand in one place all day.But for some reason the weight has started dropping off here lately.I don't know how old you are, but as you get older, it's harder to get it off.Do not eat past 3pm.That is what I'm doing now and I quit eating so much fried foods. My doctor told me to read labels, and I have been.I have lost 33 lbs since March this year!!I still have a ways to go, and you can do it too. When I get to the size I want to be,I am going to be 'Dangerous".

Focus your diet on more veggies. Celery uses more calories to eat it than it provides.
Increase your exercise a lot. There are vast differences in calories burned according on how fast you walk. Vary your speed as you walk (stroll, brisk walk, walk as if late for an appointment, walk as if late for a bus that is pulling away from the curb), gradually increasing the time spent on the faster speeds. You should be walking every day for at least 20 minutes (that's brisk walk for one mile), but that actually burns very few calories. Try some weight lifting, as muscle burns calories even when not working.
The secret to losing weight is to use more calories than you eat.
Use a small plate for small portions. Never eat standing up. Lay your fork down between bites, chew and swallow before picking it up again. Take small bites. Lean back and chew deliberately. It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that it's full, so allow enough time, and quit when you're reasonably full.
Check labels, as there is a lot of fat and sugar hiding in foods that seem healthy, like granola.

I think what you are doing sound very healthy to me. Just please don't drink diet drinks. They use fake sugar which isn't that good for you. Eat five healthy balenced meals a day. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Never EVER skip breakfast!
Try doing more crunches. Doing 50 won't hurt. I know middle schoolers who do over a hundred for dance class. Crunches and walking are the best though. Try parking in a far space at the store. Go to the mall just to look around. And if you are in a plaza don't bother with driving from store to store. Just walk! Good Luck :)

I am in the same boat. I had a foot injury last May followed by surgery in July so I have been inactive for almost five months. Cut all refined sugar from your diet and eat lots of fruits, vegetables, lean protein and fiber. Try to include yoga into your exercise routine as well, it's great for getting unused muscles into shape and will help with stamina for when you are walking. Try to eat five or six smaller meals throughout the day as well. It will kick start your metabolism. Good luck, you can do it!

Depends on how tall and how old you are.
Let's see 31/2 months,35 lbs, some good exercise, reasonable diet. a little more water and you just might make it. Since your trying to lose 2.5 pounds a week., if you haven't lost 5 pound by the end of Sept., go see your doctor!
and good luck!

limit calorie intake to 1500 cal a day. Exercise daily, walking for thirty minutes is the goal, not the distance so much as the time and energy with which you walk. You need at least 2 liters of water a day for the body to metabolize efficiently, so develop a taste for iced water. You burn some calories just drinking it.

I have lost 70 pounds since january of this year, so it is VERY possible!
I would recommend cutting down on white bread, rice, potatoes, and pasta in favor of whole grain bread, brown rice, and whole grain pastas. Also, some pretty vigorous cardio would be good. Walking probably won't take the weight off as fast as jogging or a stair-stepper.
By the way, cutting out sodas is key.

Your on your way. Especially cutting out soda. Try eating protein snacks (when you do) They fill you up and keep your energy going. Eggs, peanut butter, almonds, nuts.
Cut down on salt!!
Diet drinks are not the way to go. Water, water, water.
Keep up the excercise. It will give you results. Increase muscle will give you energy. Muscle weighs more than fat so be aware if you don't loose right away. Just means that you are toning up.
Keep walking
Good for you.

Yes, it's possible. Most doctors recommend losing about 1-2 pounds a week. From today to the last week of December, is 15 weeks. So 2lbs a week would be 30. That's pretty close.
