OK, temptation comes from the Devil. But when I asked who tempted Lucifer to be ruler of Hell (basically, who gave him evil thoughts), I was told that the Devil is not in Hell yet, that he's still in Heaven, and he wont go to Hell until the war is over, along with human sinners. So who is tempting humans? How is Satan's greatest lie that He doesn't exist (creating Atheists), if He's not here tempting us (because he's still in Heaven).

If He's not in Heaven, and He is here tempting us, who tempted him and created the first evil thought??

Jesus, Eve, Job are the only people I can recall who were directly tempted by the Devil in the Bible, and even then he used that person's own desires to tempt them.

Jam 1:13-14 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

There doesn't have to be an original temper to tempt Satan. Beings that God have given a free will to have no problem tempting themselves.

Satan is not in Heaven, although he is still allowed to go there from time to time. You have been listening to Jehovah's Witnesses it seems. Revelation clearly states that he has already been cast out. Elsewhere, he is described as roaming the earth, seeking souls to devour. Lucifer was not tempted by anyone else, he succumbed to his own pride. He looked at God and wanted to be God, not just an angel. That is why he is the father of lies.

And to believe that there is not a devil does not make one an atheist. It is a coup for Satan because it makes us forget that we are in spiritual warfare. It lures us into thinking that we can somehow control ourselves and it is all in us. In reality, we have much more need for God because we are also fighting against other supernatural powers that want to destroy us.

Satan is not in heaven, he trolls the earth with his evil spirit friends trying to confuse, trick and turn believers away from God.

Christianity has nothing to do with the devil. Being a Christian is accepting Jesus as your Saviour and learning to live as Jesus did.

Don't confuse temptation and sin as one in the same. Everyone is tempted, it's falling victim to our temptations is when we fail (sin).

I highly recommend reading an amplified bible (easy reader). There are versions called "The Message" and the New International Version is easy too.

Satan came up with his own thoughts of evil first. He was an angel in heaven and was cast out after his thinking changed. He is here on earth tempting humans and not in heaven.

Sounds like tou can use a good bible study to help you get some clarification, here's a link for some Bible Studies, maybe they will give you clarification. Remeber learn it for yourself and DO NOT just take anyone's word for it.....

Apparently you are confused about the spiritual realm. Satan is not a physical being, and not confined to one place or another. He is not omnipresent, which means being in all places at once, which is one of God's attributes, but he is able to move between the physical realm and the spiritual realm.

Job 1:6 And a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them.
Job 1:7 And Jehovah said to Satan, From where have you come? And Satan answered Jehovah and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Satan is called the accuser of the brethren, so he does have access to the throne of God, but only when God allows it.

Rev 12:10 And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers is thrown down, the one accusing them before our God day and night.

During the millennium, Satan is bound for 1000 years, then set loose for one final time. After which, he, the Antichrist and the false prophet are sent to the lake of fire for eternity. (Rev. 20)

In Isaiah 14:10-16, (there abouts) It tells us that Satan or Lucifer exalted himself above God and wanted to be worshipped like God. This temptation came from his own evil heart. He was able to stand in the presents of God and accuse the brethren for sometime, but when Jesus died and ascended to the throne of God, Michael and his Angels fought agains the Devil and his angels and they were cast out of Heaven.
Not that Satan couldn't come down to earth and tempt men during these times. See Satan isn't some scarry beast looking thing that we see in movies. Satan is a spirit an angelic spirit who can and does direct an army of fallen angels we call demons. (Revelation 12 : all). These demons number at about 1/3 the stars of the universe. This means there are billions if not trillions of demons on this earth. They have formed an army to persecute and war with everything God is trying to do on this earth.
Hell was created to put the Devil and his demons in and also another place is planned for them and that is the Lake of Fire, but all those people who deny God and listen to the lies of Satan will also be judged with him and sent to these places.
All these things were created to test our love for God. God tells us we can learn things about him by watching and observing the systems of this earth. Marriage is one system we can see where God shows us that it is all about choice.
Satan was created to present the other choices for man to ponder just as in a marriage there are other women that tempt us. It is our choice to stay faithful to God and his word just as it is our choice to stay faithful to our wife. Satan was created to test our committment and to show we truely love God.

Satan is not still in heaven...he was cast out long ago.
however he is not in hell yet. whoever you talked to was partially right about that. he's alive and well and walking among us. And he uses every trick in the book to pull people away from God and the promises he's given us.

I don't know that anybody tempted him. I think he just got plain old fashioned jealous and that is what caused his fall.
Beyond that, I don't think anyone can know for sure what happened. Maybe we aren't meant to know yet.

Sometimes you just have to take something on faith.

Lots of misinformation here in that question.

Lucifer fell and was cast out of heaven. This does not mean that he could not "visit". In fact in the book of Job, we see that Satin does appear in an audience with God and gets to make Job's life very difficult and painful, both spiritually and emotionally and physically.

The demons, the one third of angels who chose Lucifer over God , are still here running around on earth. We see much of this demon possession written about in the new testament.

Nothing in the new testament tells us that demon possession has stopped. Fact is, it is alive and well all over the world and mostly being ignored by humans in so called "civilized" society. We call it mental heath and drug the flesh instead of commanding the demons to leave.

there is so much more to this question, but I would be typing all afternoon. It is a long study, but well worth it and I urge you tto study it more fully,

At this very moment, according to the bible, the actual devil, satin, Lucifer is in a pit waiting to be loosed for a season.

His demons are still here, but satin is not himself walking the earth or the heavens at the moment.

Some one is feeding you strange strange information.

It really dose make since, when you receive the correct information.
We and the devil were intelligences before God created us into his children. This often referred to as pre earth life. As intelligences we could think and choose for our selfs. All who received bodies here on earth choose to follow God and Jesus, the devil choose to fight him and try to take his place, as Isiah describes. Devil is not in Heaven, he was cast out and is here on Earth, along with the about 1/3 of the "hosts of heaven" (now the devils followers or demons). Each of us has the ability to think and choose for our selfs, God allows us that. Each day we choose who to follow. Our great test is in being tempted, falling and repenting to become stronger and prove worthy of the grace of Christ, that after final judgment we might be allowed to return to God's presence. We have our own evil thoughts, that lead to actions. Or we can choose to go against the natural man and follow God. Check out this link for a church and explains this quite well and clearly.

Uh - nowhere does it say that satan is either in heaven OR in hell. Jesus says that he roams the earth like a roaring lion, looking for whom he may devour.

Jesus also said "I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven."

Satan will NOT be the ruler in hell. Satan will be suffering along with anyone else who joins him there.
