ok so i have been seeing this big asss woodchuck come in and out of his little holes under my shed! after a few months i saved up for a .22 rifle and now i dont see him as much.... i mean i just saw him a few days b4 i bought my gun... so i was wondering what kind of bait is best for luring woodchucks...Thanks!

Apples ( cut up) or any green leafy vegatable like Lettuce, Spinich or Kale. Rinse it with water first and DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH YOUR BARE HANDS! Your human sent will transfer to the greens......wear gloves.

Locate the den opening and dig around it so you can get the trap securely fixed in the hole so the woodchuck can't excape. Then go arond and locate all of the other openings into his den. Block up all but one by filling them with dirt and packing it down thoroughly. This will leave onlyh two openings, the one with the trap and the sceond opening. You can use two things to drive him out. You can pour a bottle of household ammonia down the second hole or you can use a sulfur candle. Put one of these down the hole and cover it up to keep the vapors inside the den. Mr. Woodchuck will not like the smell and will make a dash for the opening where the trap is located. He's pretty big and will be looking for a fight when he comes out so be ready to close the trap door and capture him when he comes out. Then you can simply relocate him wherever you wish. If you wanted to bait him, woodchucks like vegitation so put some alfalfa in the trap. Cat food is of no interest to him.
