How do you explain the War in Heaven, in which Lucifer and one third of the Angels were apparently defeated and cast out, something that absolutely, positively HAD to preceed the creation of man... Adam in particular?
This isn't something that I'm just making up. This isn't an obscure reference that noone has ever heard of. This isn't a twisted interpretation that I've fashioned from Kahless, the legendary Klingon Warrior's hair in hopes of thwarting Jesus and his horde of people that are, you know, just sittin' around waiting for him to come back and kill all of their enemies. This is a legitemate question.
Now' I know that there will be those that may say that it was only the Earth that was made in 6 days. Sure, that's a fair point... but as soon as someone mentions the Big Bang Theory, those guys are usually like, "Nu-uh! GOD did it in SIX DAYS!!! NOW SHUT UP!!!" which just shows more inconsistency.
I'm tellin' you dude. People are mis-enterpreting the Bible. Atheists, too.

My personal interpretation of the whole six days thing is that each "day" represents an"era" which is a period in the development process where everything was pretty much all about one thing. This "day", of course consisted of a dawn, a noon, and a dusk. You'll also notice how everything is created in the right order, from least complex (dirt and air) to the most complex (humans). Even the mose Atheistic Scientist would agree that that is the accurate order of development. That Moses was a genius. This isn't the kind of stuff the average sheep herder sat around and thought about.

To malik.
Nonetheless, it happened. And, I doubt that it happened in less than six days.

God created heavens and the earth, not in six days as we reckon, but in six periods of time.

To me, it is pretty obvious. When God created the universe, He must have used some technique. What better technique than the Big Bang?
I believe that science and religion are not mutually exclusive; rather, the two are tightly intertwined. God gave us the (somewhat limited) ability to understand the science which He created. It is for us to find this connection between God and science, which seems to elude most of us.
Some deride religion as the belief in something "supernatural." There is no such thing as supernatural; there is natural which we understand, and natural which we don't yet, and may never, understand.
If ghosts are real, they are not supernatural. They are as much a part of the natural, and scientific, world as a rock, or a bird, or a newborn baby. The same applies to psychic abilities, and many other concepts which "educated" people dismiss. A scientist's mind should be open to all possibilities, yet many close their eyes to the existence of God, or anything else they can not explain with their notepads and computers.
Just keep an open mind!

First of all the war in heaven did not have to preceed the creation of Adam. The Bible does not say this. Secondly, if the war did preceed the creation of Adam, which it probably did, the heavens that is spoken of in Genesis 1 is not the abode of God. The sky and space is referred to as the heavens in the Bible. God's abode is also reffered to as Heaven. That Heaven is a different place where God dwells. Lucifer was present in this Heaven along with the angels and it was in this Heaven that the war took place. Lastly, you call it a war but I call it a simple God casting Lucifer and the angels out of Heaven. There was no war my friend.

Your mixing apples and oranges.
You can't, in one breath, ask what God did, then in the very next, criticize people for talking about what God did.
Ok. One more time: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth became a formless void, and the Spirit of God hovered or brooded over the face of the earth.
THEN God commenced in rebuilding the earth in 6 days.
And mind you, each day (according to the very passage found in Genesis 1) consisted of an evening (followed by a period of darkness), and a morning (followed by a period of light). Does that day represent 10,000 years each? If that were the case, then you would have an inconsistency here, because that would mean that you had 5,000 years of darkness followed by 5,000 years of unending light!
You really can't have it both ways.

No! once you're uneducated to have faith that the Earth improve into created in 6, 24 hour days then you in addition to mght have faith that the Earth is 6000 years previous, that dinosaurs did no longer exist and which you're ultimately genetically particular. you're certainly incorrect in all of those factors. The e book of Genesis improve into under no circumstances written to be study actually and anybody who does is obtuse. "all the theories that state that the international improve into no longer created in six literal days say that dying could have existed purely before mankind's disobedience to God."- I defy you to coach that! the full case and argument relies on a thoroughly errant reading of Scripture and a severe fake impact of Christ's sacrifice on the bypass. additionally, sin entered the international with the aid of devil who deceived guy into disobeying God, it fairly is why dying ruled! So give up being conceited and judgmental, start up residing as Christ recommended and be loving, compassionate and documents.

hi! Its good to find people that have honest questions. anyway,
2 Peter 3:8 says ''' However, let this one fact not be escaping your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day'''''
Basically, 1000 years for us is only a day for god, and one day for god is 1000 years for us. So then the 6 days that it took for god to create the earth toke 6000 years when you apply the fact at 2 Peter. Hope that helps you a bit.

I'm not sure why you think they both can't be true. According to Christian theology, God was never created and angels are not in the 6 day account. So why couldn't they have existed before the creation story?

First we need to understand that God is more powerful, more everything than we are.
We want to put God inside our own learning curve and explain him and his will and way from our own base of knowledge.
Cannot be done, we are only given as much power, knowledge and all else as God determines for us to have at any given time and place.
Now, as for time. God states that before time, he was.
Right there it shows us that God created time for us, not the other way around. So, in my humble little studied opinion, the world and the heavens as we know them were made in six days, our knowledge of six days, for us to have "time" in the first place.
God could have snapped his fingers and it all would have been so. he didnt, he created time, and then created things, including us within the time frame that he created.
Now, did Lucifer fall before God created time and us in the process. In my opinion, yes, but , I do not have Gods word to back me up on that one, so it remains my little thought and not fact as per Gods word.

A day is as a thousand years, to God. It makes sense that it was actually thousands of years to create the world. And yes, you're right, things did happen before man.

Angels were in existence before the creation of the world. They, and God are in the spiritual realm, which already existed before creation. There is no timetable or date of angelic creation. No inconsistency here.
