It was near a "tropic port" and Ginger was a movie star so I would think somewhere off the coast of CA.

Yes. It is in the person's imagination that came up with show.
LOL⥠but they said (in the show) that it was supposed to be an uncharted island in the south pacific..... remember, the 'crew' left hawaii and then the wind and waves business, and they ended up on an uncharted island in the middle of nowhere?! So according to the storyline... it was in the South Pacific.

For the pilot episode, the group actually did travel to Hawaii. After that, the shows were filmed in a studio. Natalie Schaefer, who played Lovey Howell, only agreed to do the show for the free trip to Hawaii. She didn't expect it to be picked up by the network and was disappointed that it was. However, she did agree to stay on.

On a couple of the episodes they indicated where it was in relation to Hawaii. Somebody should know for sure. I think it was 150 miles SSE of hawaii.
