my grandpa is on the ship and i want to know where the ship exactly is.

You can go to the NCL web site and look at the itinerary for his cruise. The itinerary will tell you when the ship docks each day, how long it stays in port and where it goes next. The Dawn also has a web cam that shows what the passengers see off the front of the ship: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/publicRooms.html?shipCode=DAWN&displayTab=WebCam

You cannot tell exactly where the ship is, like a GPS, but you can see the planned route.

Go to www.mapmaker.com and download the program Sun Clock. It's free and you can set your location to anywhere. The program gives you sunrise and sunset times for your location.
