From Mexico but are high skilled well paid professionals?

"The fastest-growing group of illegal immigrants in the United States doesn't speak Spanish. They typically aren't found at day labor sites or streaming across the Southwest border into the U.S."

"Instead, they're here in America working in tech companies, small businesses, as engineers or other highly skilled jobs. And they're coming from India."

Well paid professionals who were issued a visa to work inside the United States and simply over stay that visa and disappear into our population.

Yep. The whole system is messed up all the way the around. They are not following up on their VISAs. Difference is....kids aren't being forced to learn whatever language they speak in India and we haven't had a huge increase in crimes done by people from India. We don't have people from India screaming and demanding in our streets for special considerations and crying victimhood and racism. Hey...they're brown too....but they don't speak Spanish and they did come here legally so they can still be tracked. They too need to be deported. Many are and you don't hear the pro-illegal crowd out there trying to save their butts. The are brown too. Just don't speak Spainsh.

They are a large group but still not the fasted growing group.
Most newspapers have an agenda and are managed news any thing to deter from the problems of uneducated illegals from Mexico.
You need to read that again they are using a specific data base. There facts are there but they are missing a lot of fact.

If you want to get information on immigration go to The institute of Immigration studies. They will put you on their mailing list.
They have no agenda or is their information managed and they also testify in congress regarding immigration. I have been getting info. from them for 15 yrs as do many in Washington DC.

Visa overstays are a huge problem. This country was not founded to supply jobs for the corrupt third world. Deportations need to occur, the law needs changing, and the fence needs building - and just to appease the screamers - yes built on both borders.

Mohammed Atta was a visa overstay.

The one using airline coming to the US maybe high in percentage but less in numbers than the one crossing the south border higher in numbers but less in percentage.
Let me do the math.

Out of 1000 immigrants from India 800 become illegal immigrants. The percentage become 80%.
And out of 10000 crossing the border 7000 of those become illegal.
The percentage is 80% ( from India) is higher compared to 70% (from the south of the border).
Now if we compare the number 800 (from India) is smaller than 7000 (south of the border)

Many Indian companies have contracts with US companies in the tech field for example, they sent over their staff from India on L and H visa to work here in the US. So they are contract staff to the US company and are not paid or work for the US company directly.

I wonder how many of them we have.
It seems insane to have the opportunity to do the right thing and just refuse to do it when it is ultimately going to cause you nothing but grief.
Can it really be that hard to renew a visa?
If they're employed can't their employer vouch for them?

Yes, which is why I am opposed to the idea that we need to increase the number of visas given.

But even though this is the fastest growing section of illegals doesn't mean it is a bigger threat. 270,000 Indians can't compare to 6.6 million from Mexico (this doesn't count other S.American countries, that's just Mexicans)

I like the Mexicans, Indians, whacky packys, and the Asians. The fault is our own, we let our country be taken and run by people that care more for their career, than the downslide of our manufactured produced economy. Our priorities are out of order, we worship idiots, and their idleness of materialism, and neglect idealism, and the sound education of our young, hence the foreign workers, that revere diligence and education.

I think that this was true but isn't today. In the past we could hire high tech workers and they could get in on a visa because of their job skills and would as you say vanish into the country. Today it is more cost effective to connect those same high tech workers into your computer systems from India and pay them 35% of what you would pay them if they came here.
