What you're saying is very true but there are good reasons why there's oil under the ice caps etc.
Over millions and billions of years the face of the planet has been constantly changing with land masses tearing apart and colliding. At one point pretty much all the land on the planet was a single land mass, it's broken apart and drifted all over the place and is still doing so.
The oil deposits that we find deep beneath the seas, oceans and ice caps are where land once was.

In respect of the climate there are natural cycles that both the Sun and Earth go through, these cycles have a major role in determining our climate. Currently the planet is cooler than it's long term average. At the point where these cycles interact to cause maximum warming the planet is about 20°C warmer than it is now - enough to melt all the ice and turn areas such as Antarctica into lush, green forests. Conversely these cycles can lead to cooling of the planet by as much as 10°C. As a rough guide these cycles repeat at 125 million year intervals.
Strange as it may seem Earth has been in a cooling phase for a little over 50 million years. When averaged out over millions of years the planet is still colling and will continue to do so for up to 20 million more years. These are immense amounts of time but geologically speaking they're quite normal. Since the deposits were laid down that created oil, gas, sedimentary rocks etc the planet has warmed and cooled several times of it's own accord and the continents have drifted many miles from where they were.

AMEN AMEN and again I say. I don`t apologise for my view but yes yes the planet has been getting hotter since the ice age. Us humans seem to think this planet was created for us and the moving of the land masses and the effect it has is something buried in the past. This planet gives off loads and loads of co2. It has been since the ice age.
Now there are those that will say I haven`t thought about all those animals that will perish, all those endangered species. Well, didn`t fish used to have legs at one point? did hairy mammoths not evolve into elephants? These are the people that will say man evolved from chimpanzees but don`t accept anything else has the ability to evolve. If it was up to these folk, we would be in a terrible state `cos the dinosaurs would still be here, can you picture it? CHAOS MAN, SHEER CHAOS!!!
I have an idea for a film about a guy who comes back from the future ( where else would he come back from) any way he comes back to ask us to stop trying to stop global warming `cos we have messed up the future big time. Hee Hee Hee
I agree its called evolution don`t you think?

What caused global warming millions of years ago was mostly the sun due to natural cycles. Read up on Milankovich Cycles:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovich_cycle
However, according to these cycles, we should now be in a cooling period.
"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that "Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years."
The difference between historic warming and the current warming is that historically there weren't humans emitting vast amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Global warming happens naturally, it's the way Nature regulates itself. The thing is that it is happening faster now due to( I believe ) de- forestation. The trees absorbed the CO2, given off by industry, and gave off O2.
If the Goverment use the money, gained from green taxes, to proper use then that would be great. It would also be an idea to support local farmers rather than buying imported meat( the animals are most likely bred in countries where they cut down trees for farmland).
Conserve the green areas and plant more trees.

You didn't watch the great global warming swindle did you? it is the suns power that controls the temp of the earth not man ,we really aren't that powerful honest!...if pollution was the cause why did earth temps dip (not rise ) after ww2 when pollution was at a record high???
Unfortunately the governments of the 1980s commissioned scientists to provide theory's on global warming to promote nuclear power. The theory's stuck.Since then it has been used as a simple yet effective method of justifying tax hikes and controlling the third world by preventing development in those countries. If you can get a hold of the programme ...it was shown on channel 4 (UK)earlier this year all will become clear!

Changes in the sun.
But it was nothing magic. If scientists had been around then, the changes in the sun would have been easily measurable. They've looked for them this time and they're not there.
This time it's (mostly) us. The data says so.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”
Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

I'm afraid we are merely accelerating a natural event. You should watch an inconvienient truth. It's excelent. I thought it would be pretty boring but was forced to watch it for a lecture!Global warming happens for a number of reasons. Build ups of greenhouse gasses is only one. Sunspots, solar storms, cycles of the sun coming slightly closer to the earth all cause this, and this is why global warming happens (or this is what I understand of it)! These activities have been happening since earth began.

Climate change is natural and has always affected the planet in the past, hence ice ages, etc. The difference now is the EXTENT to which we are changing it. The change in temperature over the last 100 years is easily 12-13 times more extreme than the natural temperature changes that occurred in the millions of years previously.
Now, if the natural climate change can cause an Ice Age, what do you think is in store for us as a result of our MUCH larger impact?

Sun then and sun now. Warming the earth just as its warming the ice caps on Mars right now.
It is egotistical for anyone to think that man (or woman) can affect world wide climate short of nuclear war.
One decent volcanic eruption emits the equivalent of 20 years of CO2 world output at its present rate.
One small fact about CO2: California with all its cars and cows and people and 10 cement factories puts out 1% of the world wide CO2. India is at 16%. SO WE ARE DOING SOMETHING ALREADY.
Now there is a mine fire in China, 100 million tons of coal burning each year, 10 million tons in India, which may contribute a bit to global warming. That's a tremendous amout of sulphates.

international warming is a hoax. The media lie approximately it (and 2 lot of different issues). a million. in case you seem on the Earth's favourite annual temperature of the final 10,000 years, you will discover that, interior of that era, the earth grew to become into favored (and maximum above the conventional of the excellent 10,000 years) from approximately 7,000 years in the past to approximately 3,000 years in the past. we are on the instant under the conventional of the final 10,000 years. 2. i don't think of there have been cro-magnon adult men using around in SUVs for the duration of the time from 7,000 to 3,000 years in the past, nor do I remember heavy industry being modern on the earth for the duration of that element, or the different of the trimmings of recent guy, so as that could look to disprove the thought guy is inflicting the earth's temperature fluctuations. 3. whilst the UN declared international warming to be a reality in 2006, they relied for his or her guidance on a NASA checklist. After the UN made their statement, the NASA scientist who wrote the checklist got here forward and stated that the UN had bumped off two paragraphs from his checklist before using it. the 1st bumped off paragraph stated that there's no data that greenhouse gases are to blame for the climate changes we are seeing, and the 2d bumped off paragraph stated that there's no data that human pastime has something to do with the greenhouse gases. The UN did not like those 2 paragraphs, by way of fact they disproved the assertion that the UN wanted to make. So the UN did what many companies and persons do whilst confronted with data that don't help their schedule. They lied. 4. different planets in our image voltaic device have temperature fluctuations too, and that i don't think of there are human beings burning petroleum products there. The earth has long previous by way of somewhat some temperature fluctuations for as long because it incredibly is been in existence, and it will proceed to realize this till it not exists. the reality that we are experiencing a sort of fluctuations now on no account proves that we human beings had something in besides to do with it. we are polluting our environment (however to not the degree that the media let us know), yet we at the instant are not warming the earth. a larger difficulty is that of overpopulation. If we don't determine that one out extremely quickly, not one of the different issues will rely, by way of fact we can, as a species, grow to be unable to help ourselves.
