For me what's most irritating in my kitchen is the fact that I don't have enough room to store away pans and skillets. That is, there is room, but not handy. If I want the big pan, I have to remove first all the smaller ones, almost kneeling down to reach them. Being over 50, that's an exercise I gladly would do without. And as my kitchen is almost as old as I am, the electric plug ins are all down near the floor (by the way, I' m living in Italy). In the new kitchens I' ve seen that's changed, they have them all handy now. Why don't you design a kitchen-cabinet to put in the corner and inside a rack on a turn-table, where one can hang up the pans and covers. All easy to reach and to store away. I'm sorry that my English isn't good enough any more to explain better. Best wishes for your project.

A faster home dishwasher. I was used to 2.5 minutes per load at the restaurant. This portable one takes 2.5 HOURS. I need my sink! But I have to start dishes at 7 a.m. to have them all done by noon. Invent a faster home dishwasher.

1) Chopping up onions
2) Ants, roaches - can you invent something that would keep them away for good (I don't like scrubbing every inch of the kitchen everyday just to keep 'em bugs away)
3) A self-emptying, self-disinfecting trashcan will be great!

Some sort of air freshner for strong food odors maybe. Like how when you chop up a little bit of fresh garlic it stinks up the kitchen.

Washing dishes irritates me. DISHES SUCK! Washing machine would be a good invention, but that already exists. So how about something that dries dishes and puts them away into the cupboards? That'd be pretty cool.

I hate it when I see a random dog hair floating through the air in the direction of something I'm cooking on the stove top. (Yes, my dog is brushed on a daily basis and not in the kitchen!)

Too little space. Too little counter space. Cutting boards that move. Papers and magnets all over the fridge. Leaking blood from meat in the fridge or on counter tops.

I have nothing to put my dirty utensils on except napkins... Like if I'm using a spatula to toss around potatoes, and I need to put it down on something so I can let the potatoes sit before I toss them again, I'm constantly looking for something to put it on that's NOT a napkin and NOT the counter.

Having to clean up my daughter's mess before I make my own.
Good luck inventing something for that...

Cleaning up the mess! It would be great to have a 'counter vac/sanitizer' that I could turn on and sweep up all the crumbs, cuttings, wrappers, etc., and sanitize my counter while it's doing it. That would be awesome.
