Jesus did NOT say, *I'll be right back* not in the terms thought..... Christ was talking to the apostles *as if* the Kingdom was coming right on in because *if* the Jewish Nation *would have* accepted him for who he was, the world would have gone right on into the Kingdom the Bible speaks of......they didn't , so it didn't !!!!!!! Until AFTER the cross, Gentiles were NOT, but a few exceptions, a part of the promise or covenant... God is bringing in the grafted branches, Gentiles, into the body of Christ...... and , Gods' time is NOT our time, a day is a thousand years or so to Him, we really do not know...... so to God , the cross happened just yesterday, to us, 2000 yrs or so..... *shrug*...... so what would another 1000 years mean ??? just a day..... go in peace.. God bless

Don't kid yourself: they have long since lost their "hold." Now they're trying to get it back.
Problem is, not only to we have a First Amendment, we have inspired other countries to write similar protections into their laws. They cannot take over, but they can sure cause trouble in the attempt. Same with Jihad-mad Muslims. There are a lot of similarities between fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist Muslims, including being an embarrassment to the more moderate parts of their respective religions.

Well it has lasted two thousand years and it is stronger now than it has ever been, and is still growing.
Followers of Christ do not know when the second coming is and are not suppose to know. It could be tomorrow or it could be in ten thousand years, who knows, who cares.
What matters is what you do before the Rapture or your death, since that is what God has called us to do.
Hope this helps explain most "Christian's" beliefs

Not going to happen my friend...the current world events are the fruition of the very things prophecied in the Bible...Our faith is reinforced by those things even a nonbeliever can see, as well as the personal changes in ourselves that are unexplainable but for God, and our faith in Him above all.

There will be one last kick from the Abrahamic lines that will shake the foundations of the earth and then they will fall to the dust to be buried alongside Zeus and Thor.

Im going to suppose that Jesus isn't real or that He isn't going to come back at all.........If Jesus doesn't come back how would this affect the faith of christians? still wouldn't prove Hes not alive, might put a dent in the bible in how its revealed to the world. If what those eyewitnesses who were taught and seen first hand what Jesus went through why would they die for their faith? They died for their faith because they knew Jesus was the Messiah and was who He said He was.
I sure wouldn't die for a lie would you? here is how some of the Apostles died for what they believed in:
Simon surnamed Peter died 33-34 years after the death of Christ. According to Smith’s Bible Dictionary there is satisfactory evidence that he and Paul were the founders of the church at Rome, and died in that city. The time and manner of the apostle’s martyrdom are less certain. According to the early writers, he died at or about the same time with Paul, and in the Neronian persecution, A.D. 67,68. All agree that he was crucified. Origen says that Peter felt himself to be unworthy to be put to death in the same manner as his Master, and was therefore, at his own request, crucified with his head downward.
James the son of Zebedee: He was put to death by Herod Agrippa I shortly before the day of the Passover, in the year 44 or about 11 years after the death of Christ. From Acts 12: 1-2.
John: No death date given by early writers. Death date is by conjecture only and is variously assigned as being between 89 AD to 120 AD
Andrew: No accurate death date given. A variety of traditions say he preached in Scythia, in Greece, in Asia Minor and Thrace. He is reported to have been crucified at Patrae in Achaia.
Philip: Again, the Bible does not say when he died nor do we have accurate information. According to tradition he preached in Phrygia, and died at Hierapolis.
Bartholomew: There is no information concerning his death, not even by tradition
Matthew: He must have lived many years as an apostle, since he was the author of the Gospel of Matthew which was written at least twenty years after the death of Christ. There is reason to believe that he stayed for fifteen years at Jerusalem, after which he went as missionary to the Persians, Parthians and Medes. There is a legend that he died a martyr in Ethiopia
Thomas: The earlier traditions, as believed in the fourth century, say he preached in Parthia or Persia, and was finally buried at Edessa. The later traditions carry him farther east. His martyrdom whether in Persia or India, is said to have been by a lance, and is commemorated by the Latin Church on December 21 the Greek Church on October 6, and by the Indians on July 1.
James Alpheus also known as Thaddeus : We know he lived at least five years after the death of Christ because of mentions in the Bible. According to tradition, James son of Alpheus was thrown down from the temple by the scribes and Pharisees; he was then stoned, and his brains dashed out with a fuller’s club.
Simon the Canaanite – No information either in the Bible or by tradition.

Well he said that he would be back while people were still alive. 2000 years late hasn't really shook them up, so it will be a while.
