1662, so far, on my Mother's side. However, there is a town in Shropshire County, England with the same name as her maiden name and the listings I've seen date back to the 11th century and before (it was part of the Domesday Book, the census William the Conqueror did of the area back in 1086). I just have to tie-in these Costons with Mom's ancestors. My Dad's sisters have traced our Johnson line back as far as the Biblical Abraham, believe it or not (I didn't until I saw the print-out my Aunt Beth did for her son), and they joke they can trace it back to Adam and Eve but can't find a marriage license.
On another note, I traced the family tree of a friend of my sister's back to his 14th great-grandfather on his father's side in Germany and his 12th great-grandfather on his mother's side in Switzerland (up to then he knew absolutely nothing about where his family originated).

PS to char: have you tried www.cyndislist.com?? She has a LOT of Native American pages on her website.

Not by me personally, but my family has been traced back into the 1500s in England & 1600s in Luxembourg. The English branch has been here in the Americas since the 1630s (Tripps of Rhode Island).

One branch lower back to the 1500's, yet another to 1600, the rest to approximately 1700. I in straightforward terms grew to become into waiting to get to the 1500's by capacity of having some well known human beings interior the line who had their kinfolk histories printed interior the olden circumstances. It took years and years and letter after letter. I had no theory the internet grew to become into that effectual, none of my ancestors could have had desktops.

1609, I did that last night for someone who asked for my help with his family history. He had seen my offer of help to someone else and thought he'd ask for my help as well.
He sent me the loveliest email back, he is so happy with the result. I think I just got lucky with my search.
For my own family history 1615 on my mums side 1633 on my dads.

I go back to the 600s on one line, passing through Charlemagne. I stay away from anything trying to take him back to Jesus Christ through a supposed daughter named Tamara...but that lineage is interesting to consider, even if it's "suspect".
