to put down the F@&#ing phone and drive? I don't care what you say, multitasking causes the majority of accidents on the road and I don't want to die just because you couldn't shut up for 5 minutes on your way to the kwik-E-mart for a diet Coke.

I don't think you can tell them anything. They are oblivious to everything around them. In this case, the best offense is a good defense. Always drive defensively and expect the stupid ones to make mistakes.

I totally agree. Nothing says it better then a bumper sticker. But, driving, talking on the cell phone and reading a bumper sticker at the same could be even worse.

I am so fed up with all the tailgaters in my community, that I'm tempted to get a bumper sticker that says: "I do frequent brake checks, so if your tailgating, watch out," or something like that. Maybe underneath that, I would put another bumper sticker that says "Bring on the lawsuit. You can't say I didn't warn you!"

EDIT: AMEN WEST!!! I should start taking down color, make, model and license number on all the reckless drivers I see on a DAILY basis.

I like to pull up beside them and tap the horn and as they look at me shake my head and pull past and get in front of them. But if they are becoming dangerous i take down the make and model of the car and its plate and when i get home file dangerous driving compliant with the police and insurance agency. While it is not against the law to use a cell phone while driving. Its recommended that you have a hands free system in the car. I personally use my blue tooth headset and voice command for my cell while driving.

Actually, I'm seeing more and more people who can talk and the phone and still drive well! I don;t know if that's good or bad! It's the people who are too involved in their conversation to realize the light's turned green that I can't stand. And the people who can't maintain the speed limit because John and Jane got into another juicy argument.
Personally, I can't STAND people who don't use their blinker. That is my BIGGEST pet peeve when driving. I think the main reason it bothers me is because it's so freakin' simple! Up for right, down for left! That little stick to the left of the steering wheel isn't that hard to find, people! Not to mention the fact that it's courteous!

Let's strip the cars of

1-radios
2-cd players
3-OnStar
4-dvd players
5-heat/a-c controls
6-seat adjustments
7-drink holders
8-glove compartments

and disallow the drivers to have anything "distracting" within reach...

9-cigarettes
10-purses
11-briefcases
12-computers
13-makeup, combs, brushes
14-newspapers/books/magazines
15-food, drinks, booze

... oh the lists can go on. It is the DRIVER'S responsibility to drive WITHOUT being distracted.

Oh, and let's throw in other violations of the road...

1-speeding
2-failing to signal turns/lane changes
3-not stopping at stop signs or stop lights
4-going too fast for conditions (ice, wet roads, storms)
5-failing to yield
6-failing to use seatbelts
7-failing to use helmets (when required)

and that list can go on.

Why don't we just stop driving completely? Then NO one will die in a car accident ever again! Then, we'll die in BICYCLE collisions, pedestrian accidents, RR crossings, etc. etc.

Sorry...I don't EXCUSE people who are distracted by the other things they do inside of a car while driving. But don't you think there are more important "distractions" to worry about than phones?

Have a polite day!

Best way to deal with those idiots is if you have a very powerful stereo system, preferably one with a subwoofer and a 400-watt amplifier. Roll up next to them, crank up your most obnoxious rap/hip-hop music, and share the love!
