Just curious. It always seems like those who get possessed or have "demonic" experiences in their homes are of one religion or another. Are there Agnostic or Atheist possessions on record? Do the various churches recognize these experiences if the individuals affected are not of their beliefs?

probably yes, but in that case it would by taken by a case of mental illness, since there is not the possibility of explaining it by a diabolic possession.

I've never seen/met a possessed person, but the cases I've heard about sound more like mental disease than anything.

They end up in hospitals with all the other handicapped.

No, I highly doubt an atheist will have a demonic experience. Those people you see on TV need to get treated for schizophrenia. Or they are just bad actors.

Possession requires belief in the possessor . People who don't believe in spiritual entities are immune from their influence.

Only the religiously inclined. Notice the non-religious will never suffer stigmata either. Religious hysteria is a very real psychological phenomena.
