Why do some people not take parenthood for real... I mean come on dont have children if you are not going to act grown-up! I hate people who hurt there children. You read in the news everyday about kids being killed, left behind, hurt in many ways! Why have a child if you are not going to feed him? I pray for these children!

Just so you know I do have children, 2 little boys and of course I lose it sometimes.... I yell, I put then in time-out! I have never hit any of my children and as a 21 year old single mother of a 3 year old and a alomost 1 year old, I know what stress is! My kids mean the world to me and I would never hurt them!!!!!

You don't have any children. Obviously. I agree that it is horrible when people don't take care of or hurt their children... but you need to be more understanding and compassionate. Don't be so critical. Every parent has reached the point with their kids (by the time they are teenagers at least) where they want to smack their child. Kids push. Kids can drive your patience into the ground until you have nothing left!
Many people get pregnant due to lack of education. Or they are afraid to ask their parents for birth control. With teenage pregnancy, you can often blame the parents for not creating an environment where it's okay to be honest about sex. Many people get pregnant before they are ready because they just don't understand what they are getting into. Some people get pregnant as a result of rape. Sometimes, no matter what steps you take to NOT get pregnant, the birth control fails. There are 100s of reasons, 1,000s of individual situations.
I do not believe that anyone wakes up in the morning and says, "I think I am going to beat my child today." No, stress happens. Money, bills, food, no time alone, relationships, jobs, etc. Imagine having three kids jumping all over you every single day while you are trying your best to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. Do you honestly think you aren't going to yell? Not going to snap under the pressure, even a little? Ha!!!!
Other times, people abuse their kids because they, themselves were abused and it is all they know. Some women change hormonally (post-pardem depression) and can't help their reactions. Some people are mentally ill. None of these things mean that they do not love their children.
I happen to agree with you. It broke my heart to see children who had been abused when I worked at a child abuse center. It also broke my heart to see the parents who abused themselves. The guilt. When voicing an opinion, it is important to look deeper and try to understand the "why." You may not like it, you may not agree with it, but at least you will have an understanding.
Pretend you are seriously against abortion and go to protests and rallies. Now pretend you hear a story of a 13 year old girl who wants an abortion because she was violently raped by her uncle. You may still be against abortion, but your sense of compassion will allow you to bend a little in your beliefs and you will understand why this 13 year old girl should be an exception.
I hope you understand the message I am trying to get across here. There are many things in life that suck, many things that are ugly. If you do your part to help, rather than grand stand, you will be able to make a difference in this world one person at a time. It begins with you.

I ask myself the same thing each and everyday. Maybe they don't act the right way with their kids becaus, when they took upon themselfs this responsibility of having a child, they didn't think it would be hard and thought that they could still act the same way as they used to before they had kids.
But it's not that way. Like that commercial on tv says "A baby changes everything!" But they don't see it that way. And to tell you the truth i feel really bad about the kids out there that are going through and that have had gone through much more then you and i have in one lifetime! =( My heart goes out to them!
But remember this is from the point of view of a 13 year old.

yes i feel the same way i wish i would have known time out when mykids were young this was not the means it was spanking on the butt which was done. but they turned out good guys. i know what you mean but thee are mean people out there and i guess that they are going to do this no matter what. its sad that some kids have to putup with abuse and die there are so manyh ere in texas and the fact of the matter the attorney general they have elected does not care either well some day he'll get his by not having the job next time if i can help it. there are so many ways to fight this with using the voting system and people you write to get moving and i will also.

I dont know there crazy they need to go to jail for the rest of there life or more jet grow up.i know this girl she is 17 and have a baby and still acts inmature she plays with other kids and wants to go out all the time and lives her kid with her mother. if i was the mother i would make her sit her *** at home

Some people love children, but don't understand what it takes to be a parent, and the added stress causes them to hurt their kids. The parents who kill their kids should be tortured.
(mind you, i see nothing wrong with a swat on the butt when they are bad, but i assume you are talking about abuse)

They are just idiots. That's the way they got pregnant in the first place, by being idiots. These people should at least clue in that their child would be better off being adopted... but then, that would take someone who isn't an idiot to know that.

they treat their kids the way they were treated as kids...if their parents mistreated them....beat them, rape them or leave them on the road side that's all they know...they just need to be sterilized to prevent them from having kids and continue the vicious cycle
