No, I don't!
I live in a rapidly growing village in England. I have lived here all my life, and feel like an alien.
Once I used to know the majority of people, now I hardly recognise anyone.
Gangs of youths hang around, people speed about, there is shouting on a night.
I really don't go out much, only to walk to work and back. I am dreading winter when I have to walk home as it will be dark, and it's scary!
I wish I could move, but finances don't allow really. Maybe one day!

I don't feel unsafe, but no, not totally safe. I know for sure I couldn't leave my doors and windows open - must be nice there in Greece with a 0% crime rate! We need to achieve that over here!

I think Cpinatsi has it right. I live in a small town (300) in the central Midwest (USA). I feel safer here than anywhere I've been. Still, criminals from the city often come to rural areas now to steal for their drug habits. They also often kill when they do, just to eliminate witnesses. I know that could happen here too. They steal copper and construction or farm equipment all the time, or Ammonia for making Meth. Still, I have neighbors who know and care about each other. That makes a big difference. If it comes down to it, I have my Remington 12 guage to even the odds.

Absolutely, I live in Greece. I wouldn't feel safe anywhere in the US, if that's what you are asking. Perhaps wrongly, but from the films and TV, I am even scared to go there.
Nothing to do with terrorism though, just crime is what I would be afraid of in the US.

If you're referring to an neighborhood in one of the most crime-ridden cities in the country, then what do you think? How would a little girl like yourself feel walking around at night? Would you fear the Touch Freak of the South?

Yes! Here in Greece I can leave my keys in the car without having to worry. But, ... this is a small community on an island.

I live in a disused telephone box in the Scottish Highlands...I feel very safe because the door has jammed and I cannot get out...and nobody lives around here except the midges and even though they are all sitting on the glass looking in at me ....I know I'm safe....because if they do manage to find a way in ....I will eat them.

The area i live in is very friendly and i do feel safe as in i won't get mugged etc. But i do worry about my kids playing out on their own, mainly because of the roads, as there are alot of boy racers who love to zoom up the road near to where they play ( which is on a green outside the front of my house).

No, I live on a rough council estate in England. We have people joy-riding, vandalising property and attacking people in the streets where I live, I hate it! But the problem is, I can't afford to leave.
