I'm a 22 year old male, and I've decided that I don't want to have children. If I change my mind in 10 or 15 years, how hard is it to get a lobotomy reversed?

vesectomy u mean. It can be reversed, but you need a medical professional to help u with that.

By the way, dont u think your too young to make such a decision? Why not wait several years before jumping into this decision.

A lobotomy is when they take out part of your brain. Not reversible!

Vasectomies...don't count on it. The reversal surgery is very expensive with low success rates. It really depends on how they did the vasectomy. If they burned it, almost no change. If the vas was just cut and tied...better chance but still not a huge chance.

Vasectomy should be considered PERMANENT.

PS. Didn't see your age. You will have a very hard time finding a doctor that will do the procedure due to your age.

Lobotomy? Lol
I suppose you mean a vasectomy. It is reversible, but the reversak procedure is (at least now) painful and rather expensive. It might be different in 10 or 15 years, but as of now, a vasectomy is a very permanent solution.
if you're not really sure that you don't want any kids ever, you can freeze your sperm, or you can just use a condom with spermicide, and don't have sex with women who don't feel the same way about kids.

well, I know someone that got fixed at 21 years old and then remarried and she didn't have children and wanted some. He was 37 when reversed. They now are divorsed because he did that and it didn't work. I would think twice about getting that done. If god has a child instore for you then take that gift. You can always us protection, fixed is permint and you have no idea what is in store for you even in 5 years. My mom got her tubs tied at 22 years old and then to remarry to a man with no kids, reversed and had one, lucky it worked but women work easier then men.

Lets think here- I don't know if you are in love now but what if in 5 years you are so in love and your wife would love to have children and you can't give that to her. How will that make you feel then, right now you don't care but you will later. Say when you get to 30, you might feel very different. Young boys at your age just want to party, not children to drag around but later will, WILL be different. Beleive me you will mostliekly regret your deciosion and it's a long life. Good luck and hope you make the right decision

Okay, my husband just went through this 2 yrs ago, and was told the way are doing it now, it is very difficult and often unsucessful to reverse. We were told to go to a sperm bank and have it frozen if there was any chance whatsoever that we may want children later.

Also, don't worry about your age, as long as you are 21 they will perform the procedure, but you have to sign papers 30 days before they actually do the surgery, just in case you change your mind

Wow a lobotomy is a drastic measure for birth control! lol.

p.s. use a condom then you can change your mind anytime you want without having surgeries.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE FOR REAL. A LOBOTOMY IS A BRAIN OPERATION THAT REDUCES SOMEONES ANGRY IMPULSES. A VASECTOMY IS WHAT KEEPS YOU FROM IMPREGNATING A GIRL. AND SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE REVERSED.

You are too young to take so drastic measures. Anyway, why don't you just use a condom? No kids - no diseases, and you can reverse it anytime!
