No. I think the stronger witness would be NOT smoking.
I used to smoke pot CONSTANTLY (I was known as the pot queen in high school, I was perpetually stoned), and so all my friends from high school know me as one of the biggest potheads they've ever known.
One friend has told me that when I go home for a visit (been away almost three years now), he's going to get me stoned. I told him not to bother, I'm not even tempted. Maybe HE wouldn't see me as a hypocrite, but anyone else who saw me might.

I don't see how it could possibly bring me closer to a person that I'm witnessing to. However, I'd have no problem sitting next to someone smoking pot WHILE I was witnessing. Jesus didn't come for the well, He came for the sick.

You're funny. Next youll be asking if its ok to kill someone in the name of jesus Christ. Whatever answer suits your needs is what it will be, thats what religion is all about. Justifying one cultures actions and beliefs and condemning others. Good luck, "saving" your pot smoking friend. By the way, did you even ask them if they want to be saved or do you just want to get your high on?

No. You cannot serve god by sinning; that is a contradiction in terms (1 John 1:5-7).
Besides, what kind of example are you setting for him if you act like a hypocrite in front of his eyes? Doesn't sound like an effective witness to me.

If I ever need to indulge the herb to bring me closer to someone, I have to consider whether or not that person is someone I want to be around when I wasn't high in the first place.

I've gotten closer to a lot of unsaved women via pot, so maybe there's something to this.

No, because you can't be a true witness for God while you are destroying the temple of God. The temple of God is the Christian's body.
It is impossible to join an unbeliever in his lawlessness and
teach him about God.

No. That would be being a bad witness to them. That's like having sex with someone to lead them to Christ. It doesn't work that way.

The Children of God used to practice "flirty fishing" in which female disciples would sleep with people in order to entice them into the church.
