My law your mother is responsible for you, if she chooses to give her parental custody to someone else then she has to go to court. It is her responsibity to assist you with schooling.
If your friend mother is willing to raise you then by all means have your mother release her parential responsilibity and give you to her to raise you.

Your mother is the person who is legally responsibe for you. You really need to talk to her and ask her if she will get you into a school as you need your education. Your friend is good to have you there. is it possible for the family friend to talk with your mother and come to some sort of agreement. You could try writing your mum a letter about how you feel. If you cannot talk to your mum then you do need to gat some advise. Or maybe you friend could ask for some advise for you. Take care.

There are alot of variables to your situation but you need to act quickly so you don't get behind in school. Does the family friend mind you staying with them long term? If not they need to contact children services and file for temperary custody of you. You really need to do this as soon as possible for school purposes, and emergency reasons. Children Services will also help you/your family friend with your financial needs. Best of luck to you honey, stay in school and do your best at behaving and being a responsible young adult. Keep smiling!!

Without you mother at least signing a power of attorney to get you enrolled in school you friend cannot enroll you. If your mom fails to do so she will have to face the consequences of the courts as a negligent parent.

Laws differ from state to state. You or your friends mother should call you local child protection service and tell them what is going on and they can advise you. In fact, your mother must put you into school. It is the law.
Good Luck!

You can register yourself, actually. I'd also tell the school, what is going on and see if you can become emancipated.
