OH No you didn't! I happen to have an IQ of over 175 am extremely intelligent and I still say Ya'll.
It's a Southern thing & I happen to be proud to come from the South.
It also sounds much cuter than "You guys" or uskies or however ya'll say it.

I can't answer for anyone buy myself. I come to R&S because of all the Yahoo Answers categories, I like it best and I do know more about it than any of the others, for the most part. What is ignorant about using the word "y'all"?
Y'all is a grammaticisation of the phrase "you all". Such semantic and phonological changes are well-documented in all historical linguistics. It is not dissimilar to the use of 'can't' for "cannot" or 'it's' for "it is."
Edit/addition: By the way, it is spelled y'all and not yall. There is a difference; one is a proper grammaticisation and the other is not a word.

It mirrors the rest of the world. Most languages distinguish between the singular you and the plural you. Educated Southerners make this distinction in English (uneducated Southerners use y'all as both a singular and plural pronoun).

Y'all is a part of my vocabulary based on the fact that I was raised in Texas and Louisiana.

it's in the dictionary. it is called a contraction. look that up. it is the equivalent of "yuse guys" even if a member of the opposite party is a female.
