what do you think will become of the Mormon Church?

-please, no denials of the evidence. If you haven't heard of this do some research so you can make an informed remark.

Dion - with respect, the "evidence" is not "inconclusive." It's very conclusive. I know what Hinkley said about itin 2002, but he should be better informed. Good luck to you as you investigate the subject.

James - "irregardless" isn't a word

WB "So, here is 'your informed remark, and without denial! I do hope you all, will rot in hell, for a very long, long time! " Did you act this way when you were told about Santa? And why would anyone want another person to rot in hell? Sounds like you have issues.
And, I will continue to debunk superstition and the lie that is religion regardless - so welcome to the world of reality.

I'm sure the Mormons will just deny it, or say it's the work of the devil. Which is what would happen if DNA tests proved Christianity wrong.

When I saw the news item about it I thought it would be the end of Mormon.
I was wrong - the official party line barely burped; who cares about some Indians anyway - they're but a tiny minority and if they leave the church who'll miss 'em?
I mean the only reason Joe said they were related to the Jews was so he could get their land without too many of his hosts (don't forget he was parasite) dying through native intervention.

Therefore believers of any religious persuasion really need and want to believe in their thing otherwise they believe their lives would go to hell in a hand-basket ... literally. LOL

[edit]
WB is a prime example - blames someone else for her being stupid. Typical. Hope no one tells her about Santa.

One of the links had the following quote by Arthur Schopenhauer:
"All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

In the case of Mormon it works better the other way:
First, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is ridiculed."

Aren't all of you debalkers just so, so very special? What do you want now? A medal? You all have been doing your best to steal our very faith itself, for so long now, and here, with all this new so called scientific evidence, you guys must be so excited, you can hardly stand it! At long last you have achieved your objective!
Well congratulations! You ripped my world apart, and took away every thing I believe! Are you happy, now? My question is, what do you have to put in its place! I was born and raised in this Church! I am sixty-one years old now! What do I get in its place? Do you have a special pill to make all the pain, and depression, and heartbreak go away? Well? What do I do now?And don't tell me Jesus! Do you think I'd listen to anything a "Christian' would tell me now? Because if you do, you are out of your mind! I hope that the powers that be, have a special place in store for all of you butinski's, who 'all know better'! Those who think that 'their way is the only way' What did I ever do to you? Was I hurting you in some way, by believing what I did? Was it really so much trouble for you jackasses to just mind your own business, and leave me alone?
So, here is 'your informed remark, and without denial! I do hope you all, will rot in hell, for a very long, long time!

well since this isn't the first time this uniformed opinion has come about, then nothing will happen. and if you're basing this opinion on the fact that the book of Mormon claims that the inhabitants of the Americas come from one of the tribes of Israel you need to read a little further. since according to the book of Mormon there was a literal physical change in the lamanites then in order for that to happen i think God would have had to transform their DNA as well. somewhere along the line my friend you have to have faith. i trust the Spirit of God far more than man's misinformation.

Demanding answers based solely on your own research is incredibly arrogant . Are you looking for an answer to your inquiry or aggrandizement of your position ? The Mormon church will continue as it always has; there may be a few who might take your 'evidence" and fall away from their teachings but the rest will ignore it and continue to follow their hearts and their faith irregardless of scientific proof.

I'm sure the latter half will keep their faith just to piss you off though. ;-)

I have heard that the evidence exists, but need it explained to me by someone who knows about it. I had someone try once, but I ended up scratching my head. It was just confusing to me.

I don't know what will happen, if anything does.

What about the DNA evidence and physical evidence backing up the people of the Book of Mormon???
I know, I know, it's not good enough for you.

Nothing can waiver a person who has received, from the Holy Ghost, a personal testimony of the Savior, His mission and the plan our Heavenly Father has for us.
But, people like you will keep trying to sway us away from the truth - and in actuallity, that is just satan working through you in my opinion.

********Like I have already said, it won't be "good enough" for you I am sure, but check these sites:
http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDSFAQ/DNA.shtml
http://www.jefflindsay.com/BMEvidences.shtml

I doubt there will ever be anything found with a large stamp on it that says "BOOK OF MORMON EVIDENCE" and it seems like that is what people like you are looking for...
where's the faith????

The Mormon Church will deny any evidence that disproves the integrity of their profit, as has fundamentalists of every Religion. Science gives us undisputable evidence that disprove things like the age of the Earth and what stars really are. They will spin it and their believers will believe the greatest conman of the 19th century was truly a profit of God as the people today still believe writings of Jesus, that were written decades after his death.

Nothing will change. It will remain, and it will grow, because people generally are not interested in truth...they are interested in the familiar. The truth here won't matter one jot to the church.

Honestly? Well, like all religions, they will simply 'explain it away' with the usual saying: "God works in mysterious ways."
