I just took a urine test and I am wondering if it will show up that i have been taking adapec ( a diet pill) that I have no script for.?

If the drug is classified as a control substance, such as one you would need a prescription for, then they may become concerned that you did not mention it at the time of the test. You might get by simply stating that you forgot to write it down. I've never had to show anyone a Rx for any drug I was taking either at the time of the test or after. However, this does not let you out of the noose. Always state up front anything you've taken and when.

They are only concerned with the heavy end illegal drugs, but the fact remains that you were tested positive for a controlled substance which you did not mention. At that point, it's up to the testing agency as to how to list it. Usually, they list everything that is found (even aspirin) by it's class, and they let the employer make the call.

On a typical drug screen, they test for:
Tricyclic antidepressants,
Benzodiazepines (like Xanax),
Opiates (narcotic pain/cough relivers),
Barbituates,
Marijuana and
Amphetamine (like diet pills).
