can be called "angler" fish. but is usually sold as "monk" fish. its latin name is: lophius piscatorius

I looked this up years ago but I don't remember where..
is is a type of shark or ray
Ray if I remember
since it had smooth skin (not kosher,,, kosher = scales)
fishermen would give them to the Christian priests OR monks and of course many blessings for good fishing..
