Let's face it, most questions on these topics are trolls and have nothing to do with the actual faiths.

By cult, I mean a religion with a 'cult' following, similar to Star Wars or Father Ted. Not as an insult!

Annsan_In_Him: Religion has nothing to do with politics: unless you're in the Republican Party, the Indian BJP, an Islamic fundie or Tony 'God sent me to Iraq' Blair.
Christianity or indeed Judaism does not have to change just to suit modern trends or to 'keep up with other religions'.

To re-define what I mean by cult, I mean a quirky sub-culture with a fanatical following.

You wouldn't do very well in politics, would you, without any comprehension of the role of 'the opposition'. Those who are 'in power' need a vigorous 'opposition' to rumble them when they're 'at it', or to challenge them to prove their case when they try to do something that might not be entirely what they try to make it out to be. Same with religion. We need groups that protest and try to expose error in theological belief and/or practice. The big difference with religion, though, is that God allows all shades and varieties of opinions, and not until 'the harvest' will the angels be sent to pull out the weeds from the wheat, burning the former. The job of Christians is to get on with proclaiming the good news about Christ and the forgiveness of our sins, and to expose deception wherever it arises (as the Apostles did). God will be the final judge as to who are the real trolls. Yahoo hasn't a clue.

I think I gotcha, and I do think that some extremely repeated postings should be blocked, but then people use different spellings and wordings.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. One question that seemed to live on here was, in varying wordings, Why don't Kingdom Halls EVER have Windows?? Of course the answer is, some do, some don't. Cost, crime, etc. come in to play. Meanwhile I have seen at least 2 copy and paste the same question, unless they both had an uncanny shared experience.:D
Annoyance is there periodically seems to be a "real" question. And so all Questions can't be totally dismissed as rude, regurgitated attacks.

The term "cult" is an insulting synonym for "religion". The term has no place in polite conversation, and Jehovah's Witnesses correctly consider it an insult.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

The only real way to make something like that work would be to have a sub-category for each religion, and add to them as time goes on. I don't see that happening. Yahoo! would be nuts to creat that kind of thing. I also think trolling would be even worse, as you would have the ability to target specific groups more easily. Probably not going to happen...

Now THAT would be interesting, seeing as each cult recognizes the others as being cults, but not their cult.
Trolls however can easily be ignored. If people quit responding to them, there would be no "fun" for them.

But we are not a cult, so that would not be right. It is not our fault that people post trollish questions about us. We are still a religion, so we go HERE. :)

I think it's a little bigoted of you to arbitrarily label those groups as "cults". that's only your (and sometimes my) opinion about them.
