Hate is a wasted emotion for weak people. When you hate you will never find beauty in the world and will never be content with yourself.

We hate because it is the only true emotion we have. Hate is the only thing that is personal and individual. Love, greed, happiness are all pretty universal. Hate, however, is the one thing that is unique to you and that no one can take from you. You can't always find something to love but there's never a problem finding something you hate.

We are taught to hate. NOt all hate is bad. we want to hate what is bad, hate lies, cheating or harming others. We want to hate things that are bad, such as someone polluting our rivers and streams, we may not know who is doing it but we hate the fact it is being done. We hate badness so that we don't commit these badness. it improves your life if you hate lies, or cheating or defruading and thus you won't do these things and harm others or yourself.
but we hate people for various reasons. of the biggest reasons is fear. we hate what we fear, we fear what we think is out to get us or kill us or take our freedom or whatever. We fear groups of people if we are made to believe they will contaminate us with something we consider either bad or immoral or whatever.
We can be taught by others to hate a certain racial group so that we won't feel bad if they are enslaved and thus do something to help them out of that slavery if possible. this hate keeps people oppressing the class we feel we want to keep subordinate whether for financial means, or ego, or for whatever.
dictators have a tendency to hate their subjects, usually because they fear their subjects. they fear the tables may some how turn on them and they will become the slave or be murdered by the oppressed people as retaliation for the cruelty he has brought on them.
They fear so much that they will lose power that they will suppress any semblence of a threat to that power, even if the threat is not real. That is why in dictatorial countries there are no private property rights, education is heavily censored, news and the internet are heavily censored. All dissent is squased at the slightest hint and the dissenters are killed. When they speak about being there by god's hand or divine rights of kings, deep down inside they know they are lies and so they are fearful of being found out or being uprooted by someone else.
The less legitimate your postion the more freedoms you curtail, people who really believe they are there by god's hand do not fear the populace as they believe god will protect their rule, so they are more relaxed and less oppressive. They don't have to prove their legitimacy by scaring the heck out of everyone to keep them submissive. they don't have to fear if others get more wealth, education or freedom to move about and speak their minds, their legitimacy will win over the day and people will respect them more. And these rulers won't have to keep looking over the shoulders or keep themselves locked away from their people. True respect and trust is never gained by oppression or with an iron fist. it never works. it only breeds fear, hate and revenge when the oppertunity strikes.
That is why the UN way of bringing peace will never work, they are using violence, coericion and other means, instead of reason, compromise and persuasion based on accurate knowledge, and it is full of criminals too criminals never do what is right for the sake of it, only what is to their benefit, so their way of doing things won't work either. There is too much hate among themselves too to achieve anything of value.
so hate can be good or bad depending on the fruits of that hate results in. The results of the hate will tell you if that hate is good or bad.

Everyone needs a way to feel good about themselves (i.e. self-esteem). A healthy individual does this by feeling good about his accomplishments or other actions. An unhealthy individual does so in many ways; one of them is to make others worse then himself. That is, "Yeah, I'm a total loser but at least I'm not black/female/a rapster/unemployed..." etc. It really isn't hate, more misplaced self-aggrandizement, but it comes across as hate.

If I hate something, it's usually in the form of a humourous catharsis. The pen is mightier than the spoken word sometimes.

I only hate term papers that keep me up to 2 am on my sons birthday. Other than that I am prone to occasional fits of rage, but not hate.

We hate b/c of things we see in other people that we dislike or cannot admit about ourselves.
For instance, if you get mad and call a girl a slut it's b/c you also have slutty tendencies and don't like that about yourself.
Or - if you make fun of fat people it's b/c you are uncomfortable with your body, think you're fat, or are afraid of becoming fat.
Basically, it makes people feel better about themselves to hate others..................
