I have a light beige powder room with a dark (espresso) vanity and espresso mirror. The marble floor is a little darker then the walls but has streaks of dark brown through it. Would a darker trim around the floor and door look out of place?

Always keep your trim light otherwise it will close a room off and call attention to the framing of the room rather than the room itself.

You say powder room so I assume the room is quite small. I don't think the right shade of brown would look out of place, but I do think it would make the room look a lot smaller. If the trim was the same colour as the walls, it would keep the room open and let the emphasis fall on the better features of the room.

I agree that white doesn't have to be an option. Since this is a bathroom, you could try light blues and greens, and maybe even yellow and sandy colors- if that's what you like. Some years ago I bought a travel trailer that SOMEONE had painted this blinding white and screaming yellow. I would guess that was about the size of your bathroom. I went with an eggshell blue, a slightly darker blue, and a lilac when I repainted it. And it looked pretty good!

yep. it would likely make your bathroom look smaller too. keep to the light colors and let your vanity and mirror be the central focus.

You mean the baseboard; you should make it lighter to open up your room.
