She sneaks into my bedroom every morning as quiet as possible so she doesn't wake me. Then she quietly sneaks up to my face and puts her paw on my mouth like she is wanting me to talk to her. If I don't say anything, she will sneak back down to my feet and lay patiently waiting for me to wake up.( I fake sleep, just to see what she will do) and as soon as I speak, she jumps, starts barking, panting, and scratching the cover, and her whole body is wagging from head to toe with excitement! She doesn't stop til I pick her up, talk to her, love on her, and let her outside to go potty. I wish I was that excited to get the day started. No matter what the day brings, she starts it out happy.
My Uncle's dog turns his butt toward you and wants you to scratch his back right above his tail, then he farts on you. It is disgusting, but VERY funny. Especially if you're not the one petting him when it happens.

The suggestion of an obedience class is an excellent one. Read here https://tr.im/epOKw
It will help your dog learn to behave around other dogs, and help keep your training moving forward as you'll want to be prepared for the next class. Also, a good instructor can be a wonderful resource, someone to help you with any questions or concerns about your dog. Leash training can take a LOT of time and patience, depending upon the dog. I'm not sure what you mean by 'horrible on a leash' but my basic suggestion is that you take a lot of yummy treats with you on walks. When your dog behaves well on the leash (not pulling) praise her and give her treats. Change direction a lot so that she learns to pay attention to YOU and where you are going. It's also helpful to teach a "Watch Me" command such that whenever your dog looks at you you praise her and give her a treat. About chewing, yes a Kong is a great chew toy. Some dogs also like Nylabone brand bones. I suggest also teaching a "Leave It" command. You use this when she shows interest in chewing on something she shouldn't. Then immediately give her something she is allowed to chew, such as the Kong stuffed with somethig yummy. This same command will be helpful on walks when she wants to sniff or eat something she shouldn't. Again, when she does leave the item alone, be sure to give lots of praise. I would look into an obedience class right away. I think that you'll find that a good obedience class can help enormously! Good luck and enjoy your new dog.

The fact that no matter what kind of mood I am in, she is always bouncy and happy and able to put me in a good mood. If I'm sad, she will just come up and start licking me or she'll be playing with her toys and run after one but her paws will just slide on the floor, so she go skidding across the floor and nearly into the wall, but has now learned to run fast and then put her butt down and gently glide the rest of the way to avoid the wall. That makes me laugh.
Mechelle - that is really cute what your dog does.

My Chocolate Lab is so wonderful. He does many things that makes me smile. The one I like the most is when I get up in the morning or when I come home from work, he is soooooo excited to see me that his whole body is wriggling and he cleans me up when I lay down on the couch for my nap after work. I get a thorough scrubbing of my face and ears. Then he lays with me till I wake up to make dinner and feed him. I LOVE MY DOG!!!!!!!!!!

Just the little head tilts and the goofy look on one of my dogs face is enough to make me grin.
My other dog does this cute little yodel bark at me. I have a video of it on youtube, but ... I'm not going to post the link, if anyone cares to see it, it's under "Pitbull Viciously Attacks Box" as the title.

When my dogs smile, I smile. I have 3 Pit Bull terriers ( 2 purebred, 1 mix) and they have the biggest ear-to-ear grins. I just love seeing that look on their faces...pure happiness

Wagging his tail uncontrolably when he sees me.
Letting him chase me around the house and listen to him yelp because he is trying to catch up with me.
When we take him on a walk and when he is so eager to see and smell everything.
When he walks kind of side ways on out walks.
When he chases butterfly shadows.
When he curls up next to me on the couch.
When we put popcorn in the microwave he stares at the microwave and dances around on his hind legs hoping we will drop some.
When he gives me high five.
When doorbell rings he goes crazy barking just making sure to let us know someone is at our home.
Pretty much anything my dog does makes me smile.

Ha ha..our dog does what we call a "Sit and spin". When she has that unreachable itch on her back and just spins in circles on her butt trying to get to it with her paw. It is hilarious.
Of course I scratch it for her after I laugh for a bit.
