Don't listen to these evolutionists. They are brainwashed. That is exactly what they believe. They dress it up with words like a common ancestor and over a period of millions of years. Then when you tell them the plain truth, that they believe that they came from a species of ape that evolved, they tell you that you have no idea about evolution and you need to go back and read up on it again. It's an absolute joke. I'd laugh right in their faces if we met and they told me that nonsense.

First, let's look at the question. Christians KNOW, while atheists THINK. That's quite a difference, isn't it? Shows that at least one population is actually thinking about it.

Christians BELIEVE they were created by God. They do not KNOW. They BELIEVE. That's the beauty of FAITH.

First, Faith:
1 a: allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1): fidelity to one's promises (2): sincerity of intentions
2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust
3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs

Note how many times the word "know" is used here...zero. That's because you have faith that God created you, and you believe it completely. But you don't KNOW it...because in order to KNOW it you would have to have some sort of imperical data...and that would remove the whole concept of Faith. In order ot know it, you would have to establish it as a fact:

1: a thing done: as aobsolete : feat b: crime carchaic : action
2archaic : performance, doing
3: the quality of being actual : actuality
4 a: something that has actual existence b: an actual occurrence
5: a piece of information presented as having objective reality

Note that this has to do with objective evidence of something to prove it exists. Since God and religion is a matter of Faith, then it can't also be a matter of Fact.

As for "thinking they occured form the monkey". I would not be certain which Monkey you would refer to. I am sure that athesits mostly do believe that humans evolved over a period of millenia...but don't confuse atheists with evolution. Spaghetti has noodles, but not all noodles are spaghetti. Same with these two groups. They are not synonomous.

I am not an atheist, but I don't believe in creationism, because the evidence supporting the theory evolution
is pretty strong.

have a good day.

Posting a science question in the religion and spirituality section often means the asker does not really want an answer. His goal is to ask a question that he believes proves some scientific knowledge to be wrong, or that science does not yet answer, and make the implicit claim that the only other explanation is a god, and specifically, the same god he happens to believe in.

It's the "god of the gaps" - intellectually bankrupt, since it favors ignorance instead of knowledge, and because of the contained logical fallacy.

However, on the off chance that you really want to know the answer:

* Christians just *believe* that - they don't know it.
* Not monkeys, apes.
* Humans are apes - look up the taxonomy.
* Humans are not descended from modern apes of course - they have a common ancestor, as is clearly visible when you examine the genes fused in humans but separate in other modern apes.

* Over 99.8% of scientists in relevant field accept evolution.
* There are no alternative scientific theories.
* There is a huge amount of evidence in support of evolution...
* And zero evidence against it.
* The 'discussion' is actually educated people trying to educate others.
* The more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to understand and accept evolution.
* The "discussion" only happens in backward places like Turkey and parts of the united states.

Why do you Christians always make it seem like evolution is full of crap. Its a bit more complicated than a monkey turning into a human. And its ape, by the way, not monkey. It took around 4.5 million years for the first form of a human to evolve from an ape. It didn't happen overnight, genius.

We know and believe in evolution. This idea of creation has no plausible proof of any kind.

Religious people seem to blindly accept "god did it" as the answer to every kind of question that is out there; which in turn causes most to be very close-minded. This is evident in the statement you have just made Atheists.

Christians don't "know" any such thing, for there is nothing really to know.

The facts are that we, like all other forms of life, evolved to meet the challenges of our environment.

Try to escape the chains of Mythology and take pleasure in studying the world you live in.

That's not in the least ways accurate and I don't have 16 hours to explain natural selection and the ascendancy of traits to you. If you firmly believe the magical invisible dad popped you into existence rather than your genetic structure being a part of natural process occurring over millions of years that's your privilege, but acting like a smug prick can hardly be considered a godly virtue.

"Christians know they were created by God, what do atheists think-they occurred from the monkey?"

Princess, behave yourself.

No. That isn't at all what I think.

BTW, most Christians accept evolution.

If you really wanted to understand (and I gather from the idiocy of what you wrote, you don't), you could.

Here are 2 sites that, if you were willing and able to understand anything, might help:

Jenae says it best. But Thor says it with the most advice.

I'll say it again.

Are you a retard? No im not talking mentaly handicapped, im talking are you just that dumb?

arguably sometimes athiests arguments can come accross that way if you dont dig into them a little bit..... but all you have to dig is like an inch down. You dont need to do anything special, you just need to see what they are saying.
