I don't feel anything about anyone's consensual sex between adults 'cept my own.

The appropriate Christian response to adultery is to stone them both, if you stick with the old testament. Stone them to death.

The only reason these things are issues is because folks like Taggart are so ANTI-gay. It brings to mind the phrase he "doth protest too much, methinks". If they weren't so rabidly against gays, then when it spilled that they were in fact gay, it would be a non-issue...at least for the public. God help their poor families.

The Christian response usually seems to be to promote sexual defiance by sending the perp on to another town and let them carry on as usual. Didn't Jesus say the church is anywhere where two or more pray together. Tear down the churches and start over - most religions are rife with disgusting acts and brain washing tactics. Religions seem to have all gone to hell on Earth...

I feel sin is sin. It doesn't matter who does it.

The appropriate Christian response depends on the whole story and those involved. First and foremost is forgiveness. Beyond that, it depends on many factors that are only known to the people involved. Prayer would be a great next step though...

Be blessed.

"Who among you will cast the first stone" is the appropriate response.
Other passages indicate that such a pastor should step down from the position, and then be granted the opportunity and the tools with which he can be restored in his relationship with Christ Jesus.
It is a "ministry of reconciliation" which Christians have been given. All believers are to be reconciled to God.

In bible days it would be grounds for stoning. I'm glad I am not any one's judge. I would be too hard on some sins and too easy on others.

I believe sodomy disobeys God.

If a pastor cannot be a man, and "go forth and multiply" as God commands, then he should remain sex-free! If he MUST do it, do not involve others (is he armless?)!!!

Masturbation appears to oppose God's Word too, but it seems a trivial sin, easily forgiven.

A scandal of queer adultery is almost as devastating to a church as paedophilia (which is worse, in my humble opinion).

God forgives, but don't use that LOVE as licence to sin, pastor or not.

Doesn't God call us ALL to be a "Royal priesthood"?

Gos says in Lev 20:13 "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death."

Enemies of Jesus agree that all adultery is offensive to God... "Every eye is an adulterer; and every woman perfumeth herself, and goeth to an assembly where men are, wishing to show herself to them, with a look of lasciviousness, is an adultress." -- the Prophet Muhammad

Anyone who has heard of the cities of "Sodom and Gommorah" knows that they were notorious hotbeds of homosexuality. Gen 19:5-8 "and they called to Lot and said to him, 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.' But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, and said, 'Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.'" The Greek word in the New Testament for homosexuality is literally "a sodomite".

Do not try to redefine what the term "sodomite" means. (A term that has unchanged in 5000 years, even today- "sodomy")

Apart from the fact the city was clearly destroyed by God because of homosexuality in the narrative of Gen 19, even the New Testament clearly states exactly the same thing in Jude 7 "Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example, in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire."

Any sinner should always remember that the God who commands us to love our neighbour is the same God who will cast any and all unrepentant sinners into the "eternal fire".

You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

Women have compatable body parts, and loving hearts. What's not to like?

God's rules are meant for our good! Try to follow His leading. You'll see!

They are to be turned over to satan for the destruction of their flesh so their spirit is saved in the time of the Lord.

I don't think Tedd Haggart was born again. Meaning, he was in a pre salvation state. But, I do believe the Lord loves him & is calling him to come back to the Lord. In that as a child, I believe God gifted Ted with a ministry. Maybe Ted was abused as a child & could never trust God enouph to confess with his mouth Jesus Christ his Lord & Savior & to believe in his heart Jesus raised from the dead.

And we are to pray for others. And forgive them. Including Ted Haggart.

I would consider him worse than a non-religious person, because he is breaking God's laws when he knows that's a sin. Obviously, he should be fired and dis-fellowshipped. Although he didn't break any governmental laws, he will eventually have to answer to a much higher Power, and God will judge him appropriately.

If that is what they choose to do then that is fine by me. However, if that IS what they decide to do I think they shouldn't be a preacher any longer because of what the Bible strictly says about Homosexuality.

I have nothing against homosexuals, but I wouldn't go to a Church where the preacher was homosexual. It just isn't right to preach one thing yet do another.

The only pastor who should be having sex with a man is a married female pastor who is having sex with her husband.

Pastors are SUPPOSED to be morally ethical, and adhere to Biblical teachings.

If they don't, they lose their moral authority to be pastors. They will no doubt be reprimanded by their denomination, and they should be.

Plus, man or woman, a pastor is NOT SUPPOSED to be having sex outside of a marital relationship. Period.

the appropriate response is they should not be leading a church body.

a "pastor" is one who feeds a flock. someone cannot feed the truth of God's word when they live contrary to it.

however they should not be lynched or any other idiocy. live and let live and let them deal with it on their day in front of the judge.
