Backpacks.(I assume you just mispelled it and mean MOCHILA.)
I only know this because I live in Southern California. This must be the way it is said in Mexico and some of the other Latin American countries represented here. Although I am from Cuba and we don't use that word.

that means bag, like the one you use to go to school, or to
keep things in.

MOCHILAS with S in the end is the plural

Mocha = head/nut
Mochila (one 'l') is a ruck sack, school bag, etc.
