One of the above posters is in error. This one does not know and see the lingo and wording.
Very specific language
For Example:
1.
globe or earth = okay
world = bad
BAD if the word "world" is used it mean a bad thing - contributors and apologists are doing a bad thing and this is of the WORLD and it is being in the WORLD.
2.
independence is discouraged
note the words "our" **** meetings and" our" literature.
independent contributors are of this world and not ours.
3.
The word "our" is an admission of control and hence the responsibility ultimately of events that occur and how they are dealt with by the elders under the guidance of the WTB&TS.
4.
Meetings, assemblies, and conventions though the literature of Jehovah's organization is where JWs are to get information ( The WatchTower Bible & Tract Society = this organization).
5.
If you seek info that is not of the WTB&TS you are not going to be of:
fitly united,
same mind,
line of thought,
stabilized.
6.
So you are not endorsed, if you are a contributor here or a WTB&TS apologist anywhere.
7.
The Faithful and discreet slave do not approve! The FDS class were originally the old ones that are still living from the time that the Russellites came under different leadership (Rutherford). These are "anointed" and took communion and celebrated Christmas and all that. One of the last ones alive is now President.
Really the FDS class are the writers and editors of the dogma and doctrinal material published in Brooklyn, NY.
8.
Personal pursuit is discouraged - read this as: stop contributing - this distracts from what Jesus wants or would that be what the WTB&TS wants?
9. Paul taught to stop reading all of the who begat who and who warred on who because it wasted time. The FDS class does not want these ernest contributors to post here or anywhere and likens it to the begats and warred on history that wastes time.
Does honest discussion on doctrinal issues waste time?
10. The WTB&TS sums up by saying: "Study under our guidance and follow our eschatology of Isaiah, Daniel, and Revelation". Use our materials - these are approved.
So to sum up all of the WTB&TS apologists, posters, and websites (that are not WTB&TS) should stop.
***NOTICE***
The WTB&TS may turn this into a disfellowshipping offense because you knowingly and willingly participate in this!!!!!

I wasn't bullied excessively, probably the conventional quantity, yet whilst it got here approximately i might in simple terms freeze up with worry. whilst i grew to become into youthful my mothers and dads tried to place me into some variety of martial paintings (won't have the capacity to remember what form) and it sucked, the 1st day we did summersaults and slapped the floor. whilst my son grew to become into born i wanted him to have the arrogance to handle becoming up. I figured the final thank you to maintain him fascinated and to supply him one in all those aggressive edge may be if I joined myself. i think like this may be some thing we can do collectively, like fishing or baseball. So i found a place that experienced effectual martial arts which additionally allowed complete touch sparring and that i've got been guidance for a year now.

No. It's hard to think for yourself if you're stuffed with false teaching. Being spoon fed is spiritual laziness.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim. 2:15
The word "diligent" is a verb. A verb in an action.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17
If JW's ONLY studies the Bible and not their watchtower books, magazines, and nwt then there wouldn't be any JW's to begin with!

Actually, all it says is that their time would be better spent reading their own publications. There is no rule given against independent research in the thing you posted.
Also, the page says nothing about debating others, only debating other JWs.

There are classes you can take in reading comprehension. May I suggest that you enroll in one without delay?
What the question box actually says is that “the faithful and discreet slave” does not endorse groups of Witnesses that meet together to debate. It doesn't say anything about Yahoo! Answers and it certainly doesn't tell us not to think for ourselves.

Try reading it again...
It says.
"Does "the faithful and discreet slave" endorse independent groups of Witnesses who meet together to engage in Spiritual research or debate.."
**It does not support the idea of Witnesses engaging in spiritual research and mostly debating...**
"Some have pursued an independent group of study of biblical Hebrew and Greek so as to analyze the accuracy of the New World Translation"
**It says test the accuracy of the New World Translation**
"They have created Web sites and chat rooms for purpose of exchanging and debating their views"
**Debating with your fellow witnesses is not welcomed.**
It doesn't say you're not allowed to research on your own - its not showing respect if you're trying to do these things to test the accuracy of the NWT and so forth.
Godislove
We listen to reason, but I don't think you're listening to us. I provided facts and information proving we have the truth, people don't bother looking into it. I exposed the lies apostates try to create against us.
Ole Baby B
It says it does not approve is websites created by witnesses with the attention to debate with fellow witnesses... it also says they "recommend" publications by the faithful and discreet slave.
Godislove
The only reason why you're not suppose to go into other Churches is because they are part of false religion. Do you think Paul (who was ahead of the congregation at his time) would like you to go into other congregations to see what they teach? Absolutely not.
All Jehovah's Witnesses know that other religious material should not be looked at, but that doesn't mean we are forbidden to do our on research.
Information such as Encyclopedias are welcomed, because they are unbiased and not religious materials.
Again, the organization is not forbidding their members to look research things on their own, they are only forbidding other religious material or things from other religions.
Are those other religious books going to tell you about the history of the Trinity, Hellfire, Immortal Soul ect? Are they going to tell you Jehovah's name was replaced with "Lord" and "God" in the New Testament? Not at all. The Encyclopedias exposes those doctrines, and thats what the Watchtower uses for their research and information.
Godislove
They are just suggesting those books.
Godislove
Because other religious don't even care what their people do.. Theres much information that exposes their false teachings and so forth, but they just dont even care.. However they will not like you talking about certain things that you found that goes against their teachings..
Theres no fear of finding anything else out because most of other religion teachings are not taught in the bible.. and most of their teachings are forbidden in the bible.
The bible says do not touch unclean things..and going into churches, having any items of books of other religions is touching unclean things.
Other religions hold no truth whatsoever.. and they do not teach the truth about the bible - and most witnesses already know that.
Godislove
Encyclopedias doesn't have one author because its a bunch of information gathered together in just one book.. The good thing about it is that its unbiased with a lot of information..
You can get your questions answered based on the origin of teachings of Christendom..

This shows exactly what everyone has been trying to tell them on here. They will not listen to reason. They are not allowed to do independent research..they will not listen to anyone other than what their FDS class tells them. Its not what Jesus had in mind!
Even if they say they are allowed..but discouraged from doing research such as this..That to them..means do not do it!
JR..Excuse me..but, ..I know already everything that you guys are always trying to tell others..I was in the religion for over 30 years..I know what they believe and why..
I also, know that I was not ALLOWED to research anything outside of the WT. As a young woman growing up..I would be invited to my friends,Churches..I wanted to go then and see what they believe..But, was I allowed? NO..I wasn't..I wasn't allowed to buy any litature that wasn't from the kingdom hall..I was not allowed to check out book at the Library on religions and what the bible teaches..Nothing.. ..Nothing .
As one JW's Pioneer said to me once..JW's don't lie..They just don't tell everything.
JW's seem to think they have all of the answers..and nothing anyone else says to them matters..You guys are the ones not reading the answers and trying to make sure of all things..Not me...I have done the research and asked the question..I have made sure of all things..
I noticed in that aricle that they suggest that anyone wanting to research should use the books..
Insight On The Scriptures" and.".All Scriptures Inspired of God and Beneficial"
These are books that your religion write and print? I think so..So you are really not getting to research anything other than their own interpertations of their beliefs.
Help me to understand..Why can other religions look are read any other religious material..without fear of betraying the organization or God.? But, JW's can't ? The other religions are not afraid of their members reading other material..even yours..the WT....so it makes no sense and one would be wise to question why..why does the JW's organization not let their members read other religious material. Are they afraid that they may just see the truth out there for themselves and lose millions of their members? Why?
So, I can go to an Encyclopedias and find all of the information out that needs to be discussed about the Bible and get all of my questions answered..Who is the Author of this Encyclopedias.

I normally stay away from these questions, but I would like to say:
Thank you for proving the accuracy of Paul's writtings.
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) 3 If any man (or woman) teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, 4 he is puffed up [with pride], not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, 5 violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth, thinking that godly devotion is a means of gain.. . .
Like most apostates on Yahoo, you are quick to judge anything the brothers do as 'mind controlling' and yet reject the scripture proofs being used.
Like most apostates on Yahoo, you've proved Jesus right at:
(Matthew 24:48-51) 48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.
======
Why do JW's send people to www.watchtower.org?
Because we know that is where a person will find accurate bible information.
Because we know that is where a person will find honest answers about Jehovah's organization.
Prior to Jesus' death, where did he send people who were unclean according to the law?
To the nations or to the high priest to preform the cleaning ceremony?
===
I too have found the accuracy concerning debating on Yahoo.
I find most 'regulars' are so steeped in their beliefs that God's own voice telling people to glorify his name, falls on deaf ears.
I find most 'regulars' are so steeped in their beliefs that Jesus telling them to worship the Father, falls on deaf ears.
I answer questions not to argue or debate, but for those who are reading with an open heart.
I've received several emails from 'non witnesses' thanking me for providing 'truth'.
This is why I've answered your question, not to argue or debate.
.

That is the most worrisome thing about the Jw's the inability to think for yourself..Being told what to think about everything.
Being spoon fed doctrine form the WBTS, but most of all, being told that you can not get the truth from the bible alone, and need the guidance of the WBTS to understand it...Such Cra*
