you can fellowship anywhere: Where two or more are gathered in My Name, so shall I be.
that is written somewhere in the Bible.
I do not attend services, I should, just to celebrate. My wife and I try to make it a point to read the Bible, no schedule. Even if it is just a paragraph or a Psalm, and then pray together, in our own home, by ourselves. It does bring peace to us both.
I think church should be a gathering of people giving praise and being refortified in the Spirit.
Having "church" at home has brought peace "at home".

Don't consider yourself a bad Christian, Christian only means that you believe in Christ. If you don't feel ready to pray to Godnow, what would help you be ready? It doesn't just happen so if you're waiting for something to change your mind about being ready, I wouldn't. If you really want to know what kind of Christian you are, you have to familiarize yourself with the religion and the routines and see if you feel any different doing the basic things like reading the bible, attending church etc., and seeing if it actually helps you to do those things. If not, then don't feel guilty, as long as you really try to make it work, you won't have any room to feel hypocritical. Losing a child is the worst thing anyone could have happen to them, without a doubt. At a time like that it seems appropriate to blame someone or something because you don't know what else to do. It's more of a coping method. Just if you're feeling guilty about being a bad Christian, try doing something about it and see how you feel is what I'm getting at.

I get more from the Christians in this place than I could from a church. Though that may be a sweeping statement, some of the Christians in here say it like no church ever could. Also, alot of Christians I personally know are not too keen on the way most of the modern churches conduct themselves in terms of the attitudes of alot of the members. Too much politicking going on. If you're not dressed to the nines, somehow you're not a "real Christian", as though God really cares how much your clothes cost. I went to church once in a pair of jeans, T-shirt, and running shoes, and if looks could kill I would've been dead. I left half-way through the "service".

It certainly helps your spiritual life if you do. Yes, the fellowship, but also good bible study, a chance to reconnect.
But for me it was also important to find a Church I feel comfortable in. Some Churches have mid-week activities, such as dinner and a short casual bible study, and offer other avenues, and you don't need to be a member. I wish you the best on your search.

It is assumed from your question that you are a Christian since both of you want to go to a church.
Be obedient to your husband (as Ephesians 5 teaches) and you'll find great favor with your husband.
Regular weekly church attendance is only important if you want to grow in Christ, and in faith. There is no limit as to the number of times per week that you can fellowship with other Christians. Is there room for compromise? Go to his church on Sundays, and find a Bible teaching church for mid-week evening Bible Study for yourself, and him if schedules allow.

The best thing would what helps you grow in your walk with Christ. It is important to fellowship with others. I have friends that claim to be faithful but dont feel it necessary to go to "church." Sitting in a pew does not get anyone into heaven. But, at the same time, your actions are a product of your faith.

No you don't. Going to church is not on a must-have to basis. You decide if you have to go or not. I'm not really a spiritual person but knowing this much suffices: Jesus is in every person on Earth. You don't have to go to church to have him in your heart, or to praise or worship him. You could never go to church, and still be a very loyal follower of God, Jesus etc. Only certain denominations believe you have to go to church to believe, worship, or follow God, Jesus etc. Bascially I'm saying no you don't have to participate in church to be a loyal Christian. Go to church if you believe you need to, or don't and still be a loyal Christian. Going to church on a weekly basis depends on your wants, or needs.

Hi, it says..."not to forsake the gathering of yourselves together" and he was talking to the "brethren" Jesus said, where two or three are gathered in my name, there am i in the midst of them also....well, then, here we have it...at least 2 gathered in His Name, for the purpose of uplifting each other and "fellowshipping" with one another to the Glory of God. You don't have to do this in a paticular building...I do it in my house or with others at their house too.....but there is nothing "wrong" with attending a local body of believers at their time of worship either, be a little "flexible" as he is with you, God is not the author of division or confusion, but gave us the spirit of Love and of Power and of a sound mind...(peace with logic) and common sense.....lol...

Jesus is my church, he is not a building down the street, you can go to him any time, any where. Those who are believers are the members of this church. I go to him daily. You and your husband appear to be a little off track to me.
