I celebrate because I get the day off and get to give presents to my family. You celebrate because someone misinformed you of the origin of christmas. Now, I want you to think rationally about this, if christmas was about Jesus why would pagans have been celebrating it centuries before Jesus was born? Even better, if it was about Jesus, why would mainstream christian America celebrate with christmas trees and give presents to one another, as Pagans did centuries before Jesus was born?
You may want do a little research into when Jesus was born, even biblical scholars concede that he was most likely born in September. But don't believe me, do the research and find the truth for yourself.

"Well I know it wasn't when Jesus was born..and It was created by the Pagans or whatever...but it is still a religious holy holiday."
Depends on how you look at it I guess. Not all pagans are theists.
I simply look at it as a celebration, of faiths for those that are such, for family, for showing those close to you that you care, and being a little nicer to those you don't know.
The spirit of christmas is what I celebrate. The attitudes of mankind.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ, It wasn't around the time he was born, it was the day he was born! But I have known some athiests, and no they didn't celebrate christmas or birthdays, or any holiday really. They just got togather to drink eat and have fun, They were really nice people.

some gain this because of the fact they aren’t out as atheists. some gain this with the intention to no longer rock the boat between non secular family. some gain this because of the fact they continuously have and don’t choose to alter or purely rejoice with the trip. Others argue that it would get replaced by using a extra rational trip, and nonetheless others argue that all and sundry such trip trips might desire to be omitted traditionally, Christmas has basically been a Christian trip. it fairly is, regardless of each little thing, Christ’s Mass the place the Nativity of Jesus is widely known. Many atheists don’t have confidence that Jesus existed, and people who do don’t regard him as having been anybody specific. No atheists are Christians, so why concern partaking in this manner of Christian trip? It’s debatable that partaking makes Christianity look extra popular than it fairly is, to no longer point out giving Christians an unjustified ego enhance.

I celebrate it, but more as a time to get together with family and open presents. For me, it's a failry secular holiday with tinsil, Christmas trees, and Santa. It's more about tradition for me that religion, and my family has always celebrated it.
Of course I celebrate birthdays. Mine is in a week and a half. Feel free to send me an i-Tunes gift card.

Yes I do, It's hard not to in a family full of Christians. I don't look at it was the birth of Jesus or it's Pagan origin, I look at it as a time for my family to come together, that's all.
And why the hell wouldn't I celebrate birthdays?

The winter solstice is a holiday celebrated by many religions and atheists alike. Your Bible gives no date for the birth of Jesus. It was the popularity of the winter solstice that Christians stole to make their holiday. So, in essence, you are celebrating our holiday.

Love, that's a question with whiskers, it's asked again and again. The answer is that, Yes, many do, others do not. Many have children who are surrounded by the trappings--why would one disappoint a child? I do my level best to be polite at all times, but I feel compelled to say that your understanding of the world wants attention: atheists are not creatures from the dark side of Mars.

first of all no one knows when Jesus was born. 25 of Dec was a pagan holliday and the new powers that be patched it up with Jesus birth crap. I celebrate Santa Claus. Jesus claim to fame mainly his crucifixion is morbid and should come with a warning it may give you nightmares or make you insane.

Is it that time of year again? Sigh...
Seeing as Christmas has lost its meaning and become an entirely secular holiday in America, yes, I celebrate it, although I despise it (capitalistic BS designed to get you to blow all the money you saved all year, just before you have to pay taxes...)
ANd yes, I celebrate bdays too.
